Lost Street Fighter 4 Save Data, Any Help?
Today, due to some unknown forces of evil conspiring to ruin my xbox experience, i recieved a more than hearty "wrath of the demon" to my xbox SF4 save file which unfortunately "died one-thousand deaths" as result . I am praying that there is some way in which capcom online can restore my save file? perhaps a one off download to my account?? please!? the same thing happened to me on Dead or Alive 4 and i never played the game again as similarly with SF4, i'd invested so much effort and time into unlocking everything that the idea of doing it all again seemed about as tempting as... well you get the picture lol
So anyway, my guess as to why this happened is porbably....actually i havent got a clue...i played the game, owned some noobs online, turned off the console(safely). went to the shops for some food as one does, returned to own some more noobs online and to my horror when i selected my hard drive to load the save file i kept getting the lovely and most welcoming message, "no saved date found" . ive tried everything from resetting, to taking my hard drive out and even shaking the console . shock, shock, horror, horror, im sure you can guess all of those methods of false hope did nothing more than deminish my love for SF4 and unsettle my already rattled trust in the xbox system on the whole (3 lights of death will get you all at one point, just hopefully not as often as it does me).
So, a brief summary of my losses:
- My account had racked up well over 70 hours gameplay (on SF4 ofcourse)
- More than 600 ranked matches with a win record of roughly 55% - 60% (not too great i know lol) my bp wasnt too great either but around 1650ish.

- Unlocked freddy much everything. Got every character, all but one costume (being 9) unlocked 77% of all the tags (cheesy slogons), a stifling 10% of all the icons lol (a few of those sf4 discs!!!)
I am aware that capcom can check my account history and reference it against my xbox online profile (i.e. to check i have the achievements in accordance with the unlocks i am stating above, which i am more than happy for them to do) but, please capcom tech support guys, i know you have the power of "nothingness" to parry this temporary "raging demon" and save my ass from insanity, i beg of you to exercise some love and discretion and return to me, the fruits of my hard work and labour...Please

Wow Im sorry to hear that this happened to you also but Im glad im not the only one. I just turned my console on to play and to my dissapointment all my saved data is gone. I also had unlocked every character including Gouken and Seth as well as unlocked several colors and personal actions. My online record is back to 0 games played after also having nearly a 60% win ratio. I have given xbox alot of money in microsoft points because I have downloaded all of the costume packs. The alternate costumes are still available but I cant use half of them because the unlockable players are not there. I have no desire to sit through hours of solo play again to unlock everybody, it was frustrating enough the first time. I just wanted to unlock everyone so I could enjoy the online experience even more. I really hope there is something Capcom is willing to do to get me my memory back. Im from the USA but rest assured your problem apparently is not limited to you over there in Europe. If you find any way to restore the memory please let me know.

I hear you OfficerOwnage and yeah, i agree on the downloaded content, it is annoying as we cant use what we have paid for. However if anything comes of this and Capcom decide they want to look after their customers i will let you know, but hopefully through this thread everyone will be able to comment and say whether or not they lost their data. that way the more people we have raising light on this highly annoying issue, the better the odds are that we will actually instigate a response out of the Capcom tyrants! lol
in all honesty i was kind of hoping i would have received some form of acknowledgment from Capcom by now even if it was just an email saying, hey yarz2k, we understand you're pi**ed off as no one likes their save file being flash kicked into oblivion so we will look into it for you and see what we can do. haha, that would have been amazing and then maybe i would feel right now like Capcom actually give a sh*t about their customers. we'll see, i'll give it a few more days, but if nothing comes, i'm gonna trade my games in for something else.
heres hoping...

the exact same thing happened to my friend, luckily he had only just got the game and hadnt bought any dlc yet so he only had to re unlock the charecters, as for the dlc because you have already purchased it you should be able to download it again for free by going to the specific item in the xbox marketplace, the only issue will be if you used a code like from the collectors edition to get something as for some reason you only get a one time download with them.

Yea my dlc is still available. My main concern is unlocking everyone all over again. Ive now begun the long tedious process of doing this chore yet once again but im afraid of losing the data for a second time. The challenges are a PIA too. On a positive note, since my online record has reset, since ive begun playing again my win percentage is at 100%. Ive only played about 10 online matches but not too shabby lol

my ps3 has started doin the thing where it sometimes doesnt read the games i put in, which means its on its way out. does anyone know if i do the backup data utility will this keep the sf4 gamesave when i reload it onto my new ps3 if i get one? (im aware u cant copy sf4 gamesave to mem stick in general)
i dont care about any data on it apart from my sf4 gamesave, i only have like 4 or 5 trophies left to get for platinum, iv unlocked just about everything, i only need to finish a few characters hard trials and get all gold medals in the challenges - i DO NOT want to do this all over again

backing up does keep your game saves.
When my blu-ray drive faild i did this and it was alright and all my saves restored when i recoverd the data
Sadly i never got the chance to back up when my 2nd ps3 died

Thanks I am in the process of getting to my previous points in all my saves which is a bind
It was quite a while ago when i had to back up I don't think back then I had any none copyalble saves.
But as it's a FULL SYSTEM back up it should back the save it all reguardles as it should retore your new ps3 with tag and everything to the preback up state.
