Okay guys, so it's already the end of the week, and that means it's time to give you the final rules and details of what's going to happen.
The more frequent visitors will know that I was discussing possibly removing characters to prevent spammers stressing other combatants out. However, I'm not going to do that. Instead, I'm going to give you one very good anti-spamming tip that managed to ensure my victory against a whole team of spammers with my normal and diverse attack style:
If you see an opponent with a team of Ironman, Sentinel and Ryu, depending on who comes out first will depend on how you play.
Ryu isn't strictly a spammer. Sure he can be, but Ironman and Sentinel are your biggest threats, so move towards and close in on these two characters AT ALL TIMES, and keep pinning them to the corner, attacking them every chance you get, but don't forget to block if they call in assists.
Pressing down and then up and towards the enemy will make you superjump towards them as well, getting you out of their way for the majority of the damage, and if possible, 3 way hyper combo Sentinel. This should help you at least a bit more. You've just got to remember that if you stay in the corner blocking, they will kill you. So block by all means, but if you get pushed back too far, use the super jump and towards tactic, and if you're gonna be hit on the way down, use a move that will temporarily suspend you in the air. Akuma's air hadoken should be fine for this. Same goes for Wolverines Drill Claw.
Anyway, on with the show!
Your mission is to fight each other with everything you have until everyone has gone up against everyone participating in this fight off.
I will constantly update this thread to inform you all of who you will be facing, and all I need you guys to do is to say in here (honestly) who won and who lost.
The person with the highest win count will be the overall winner on each console, but if multiple people share the same amount of wins, you will be put against each other until we have only one member in 1st place, one member in 2nd place and one member in 3rd place.
I will be making avatars for the three winners on each console, which are essentially your bragging rights to say how well you did in this event, and also how skilled you are as a fighter. More details for this will be written at the end of the tournament.
Right, so next up are the rules (we all love rules don't we? Sure we do! *people start rebelling*.....Pirates!):
1. Play nice - When fighting each other, don't swear at your opposition because you're losing. Just fight harder and aim to win!
In the unlikelihood that someone does get aggressive, I would like the "victim" to report this to me, upon which point I'll issue a warning, and if the person continues to be foul mannered, I may be forced to disqualify them. So, don't do this for both your and my sake please!
2. No cheating - If you lose but tell me you won your match when your opposition also claims he won, I will make you have a rematch. Don't do this because otherwise I'll come into the lobby and babysit you, so I can determine who the actual winner is.
For the 360 team ShinKagato will also do this.
3. Be diverse - Play how you want to play, but mix things up a little. Don't do the same move over and over and over until the enemy is dead. I can't enforce this rule, but I will match you up against anyone else who does this. If you spam, members are free to report it in here, at which point I'll refer the non spammers to my tip above, and they'll know how to defeat you when it comes around to their go.
4. I mentioned I wouldn't rule out any characters, and this is true, BUT only one spam character is allowed in each team, so choose wisely.
Major spam characters to choose from: Sentinel, Ironman, Magneto, Doctor Doom.
5. The most important rule of all - Have fun! Enjoy yourself. This is an opportunity to test you skill and show to the Capcom community just how good you are.
Please note - If you have any other rules that may prove beneficial, please tell me and I'll carefully consider them.
Now it's time for the main match details:
At the bottom of this post I'll list who's fighting who, and update the match details with a winner when the fight has finished.
Both you and your opponent will have to arrange amongst yourselves when your fight will actually take place, as you have to bare in mind some people will have busy life schedules. Though, you will only have a window of a week to arrange this.
If every fight is arranged fairly quickly, naturally I can move on quicker to tell you who your next opponent will be. So, you won't always have to wait a week before you can face your next opponent. Arranging things relatively fast so that I can update halfway through every week would be ideal, and it wouldn't drag things on for too long.
The last thing I want to say is for the first game, I'll PM (Private Message) you with details of who you're facing. This will also work as a reminder to those people not as active, but after this point, this thread will be your mission hub, so you'll have to check back here after every fight to tell me who won and find out who you'll be facing next.
Everyone happy? Good, then let's move on to the final phase!
Remember to add your opponent to your friends list, otherwise you won't be able to play against each other.
Practice Sessions are allowed, but please tell me in this thread when your fight is taking place. I'll try to get everyone in the PS3 team to join an 8 player lobby at some point.
Below, you'll find out who you're facing and because this is a league styled Tournament, if you lose you won't be knocked out.
The best of 5 games determines the winner. You will play all 5 matches and if you win all 5, you get 5 points. If you lose 2 and the opposition loses 3, you get 3 points and they get 2. A win equals a point. Everyone is required to play 5 games to keep things fair, and the point system in play.
Round 1:
PS3 Team

shadow2bolt (INTERNET-DIVIDER)
Carbonox_Ratchet
Black-Shuriken (ShoutenT)

Reserve: R_Navarro
Xbox Team

Jack D Kelly - 9pts
ShinKagato - 5pts

You're going to be competing against each other regardless of the console you're on, meaning there will only be three overall winners.
This way you're still competing for something, and because there's an equal number of people playing on each team, it'll be much easier sorting things out. Still, no more drop outs please.
Ryu_Kazama VS Shadowakito - played 5-0
Ryu_Kazama VS ShinKagato - played 3-2
Ryu_Kazama VS Jack D Kelly - played 4-1
Jack D Kelly VS Shadowakito - played 3-2
