A couple of points I'd like to make:

-I'd think we need some official Capcom Europe Community icons, banners and signature banners made so users can use them on other websites and other interested users can just click on someone's signature or banner and be linked to the forum. Capcom gets free publicity and we get cool stuff, everybody wins.

-The General forum needs to be split like other game forums. A general gaming forum and an off-topic/general discussion, so gaming news and standard news are kept separately.

-Not sure if this is already an option or not, I haven't come across it but I'd like to be able to display a lot of topics on a forum page even if they are old without fiddling with the options at the bottom of the page to select older topics, they should be displayed by default.

-Capcom Europe staff gaming nights with the fans which includes live stream and a live chat box. I think if this was added it would draw a lot more people to the website and get a lot more publicity.

-Well, you can always make your own custom banners if you want. I don't think it matters too much whether they are official or not.

-I don't particularly see any problems with the General forum. The rate of thread creation is not excessively high. Therefore, I think all non-Capcom topics are fine in the same forum.

-You can modify the Default Thread Age Cut Off in the control panel. I'm not sure if this is what you are asking for.

-Apparently Capcom Europe are teaming up with Unity to host live streams in the future. And anyway, the streams Unity currently host are more than sufficient, in my opinion.

Thanks for your help with the Thread details.

In regards to the icons/banners, I'm sure the banners/icons don't have to be official but someone has to actually take time to make them.

Also I think it's deceptive since the general gaming and general discussion forums are put together, people don't want to post off-topic in case it's classed as spam. The reason why the majority of forums split their forum into general gaming and off-topic/general discussion is because people like to make off-topic discussions and having them on the same board as general gaming just doesn't facilitate or promote these discussions.

I'd like a European stream all the same, we have a euro forum and the euro Capcom staff are here as well, I think whether it's sufficient enough is besides the point it's fun and people will enjoy it. If they put it on a site like Jtv Capcom would get loads of publicity.

Hmmm... I'm just doubtful as to how many people would use such banners. And how many people would actually click on them. Still, I'm sure that if a member of the community were to create something like that, then Capcom would be happy enough to adopt it as official.

Funnily enough, I have never seen a website which has separate off-topic and general gaming forums. I'm not objecting to such a thing for this site, but the existing General forum could perhaps be renamed to 'Off Topic and General Gaming' or something.

I think it might be beneficial to have Capcom Europe and Unity sharing the same stream, since viewers of the Unity streams are more likely to watch the Europe streams, and the European community may want to watch the Unity streams. They both promote each other, see? Either way, it would be great for Capcom Europe to do something like this. I hear that there's gonna be a Street Fighter stream coming up in August...

I'm sure quite a few users would use the banners and icons. I'm toying with the idea of a blog and I'd definitely use a Capcom Europe banner.

There's plenty of gaming forums with general and off-topic split up take your pick:
IGN
GameFAQs
Escapist
Gametrailers
Steam .etc.etc the list goes on ad infinitum.
Like I said the the current general board fails because it doesn't encourage off-topic discussion and multiple off-topic topics would probably be construed as spam.

Yeah I wouldn't mind a shared stream and it'd probably bring in more European members.

After writing several responses to a TZM thread I had an idea for an achievement award for members. Not sure if its been suggested before, but here goes.

How about an achievement award for the best...

Thread of the Quarter or Post of the Month or vice versa or an end of year Achievement presentation for the best threads and posts.

A person can nominate someone to be judged by Admin for a post or thread that has been...

Best Topic of the Month or year thread
Most informative post
Funniest post
Most intelligent post
Most entertaining post/thread to read
Most Creative or Original Post/Thread

or any other category you care to suggest and please do suggest sum more.

You can't nominate yourself of course, only other members can do that.

I've read stuff here that definitely deserves sum recognition.

Dante's post for "Some Questions and Suggestion for Resident Evil"...Thread.

There are others but these are the two most recent I can remember. But you get the idea.
Anyone agree, any suggestions?

Yeah, that's an interesting idea. But I don't think it should be so easy to get an award, or we'll all have one and it'll be pointless.
