I had no idea this was available on XBLA until yesterday, but after playing a quick session, I had to buy it. I used to love this game back in the day, tough though it was.

The bad points are that there's no moves-list included, but there's always Gamefaqs.

I'm pretty sure this is the original arcade version, as the western version for the AES censored the blood, and took out the more violent ending scenes. Also, it retains the zoom, so it's definitely not a 16 bit port. The only letdown is the 360's D-pad, so I'm thinking about an arcade stick now.

If you've never heard of this game, you should definitely get the trial.

Samurai show down was a great series! SSV (i think! it may have been IV) came out on the ps2! well worth digging up if your a 2D fighter officionado! It is realllllyyyyyyyy hard though!

It's a decent purchase, I didn't play it to much because I didn't have anybody to play it with and people online where pretty hardcore and I never played Samurai Showdown competitively.

I'm more interested in Samurai Shodown Anthology. This game is hard as hell to find, and Last Blade is even harder...

Actually it is a prety hardcore series so i'm not suprised! I dont think most western gamers that aren't 2D fighter nuts will have!

This game is so awesome! Too bad I suck so hard at it. I don't know how to do any of the special moves or anything. I need to give the game another go.

Just look up the move lists on Gamefaqs! I used to know a lot of them, and could play almost any character, but that was many many years ago. Now I can only remember a couple for each character.

I love how you can do the whole Samurai thing where (especially against Ukyo) you face off doing nothing for ages, and then it's like a quick-draw where you have to time your slash perfectly
