The XBLA release is the best version of the game you can get and the controls translate well to the 360 pad. It features a pretty robust online mode (which is mostly filled with Japanese in ranking matches) but like most XBLA fighting games you're going to have to convince a friend to buy the game to and play with them to get most fun out of the competitive game.

This robot is A MAID!

I really want this game to sell, the Virtual On series is something I grew up with and I hold it quite close to my heart. The fact this game even got released on XBLA is such a rare event, a niche game with a niche setting on a down-loadable service. It deserves your attention if you are:

A) A fighting game fan.

B) Like giant robot fighting love.

C) Like the dreamcast.

They are powered by DREAMCASTS!

So this week it's only 800msp. Buy it, get a friend to buy it, Play it, love it then hit me up so we can fight! I'm actually not that good at the game so don't be intimidated to send me a challenge.

But most importantly sit back and enjoy one of the deepest, most fun fighting games on the planet! VOOT!

I played the demo a while back, and I have to say it kind of shows it's age. I was a big fan of Virtual On in the arcade. For 800 though? I'll consider it.

Ok so I ended up getting it... and it is pretty cool. I went through the tutorials, and it's much deeper than I thought.

Then I played practice for about 10 minutes, and next completely destroyed my first opponent in a fight. In like, 10 seconds.

But I can't beat the second guy. Not even close His sheilds go down to around 90%.

Any tips for me? My opponent is some red fat drilling guy, and it looks like we're fighting in a volcano. He hides behind rocks, his attacks home in, and I can't seem to get a lock whatever I do, jumping, dash-attacks, bombs...

Mine was a robot chick... who wailed on me to death.
Should've gone through the tutorials, but I got a Street Fighter invite as soon as I died...

Tbh, once I get into it though, dashing, shooting, moving, groovin' it, yknow? it's probably gonna be more fun then Megaman 10.
