Exclamation Q&A with producer Niitsuma-san

You asked the questions, here are the answers

If you could be one of the characters from, Tatsunoko Vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars which one would you be?
I would say Yattaman-1. Simply because he has a cute partner like Yatterman-2!

Who is your favourite character/s in the game?
I usually say Ryu and Ken the Eagle… But let’s say Mega Man Zero because he is easy to use and that makes me look really good at the game.

What is your favourite move in the game?
Purely as a move I say Hadoken. But as a developer, I say Karas’s Hiei Zangetsu because we’ve put so much effort into that move making it very faithful to the original move.

Who is the best person that you have played TvsC against?
The developers who are responsible for balance tuning. They can perfect me every time – I have a lot to learn from them.

What tips have you got for people new to the game?
If you are not sure what to do, just press random buttons! After a while you will learn that certain things happen when you press certain buttons and that’d be a good starting point. Hours of fun playing with friends around or even play online with Wi-Fi connection - you just can’t go wrong with this game.

Do you have a message that you'd like to give to fans of the game?
We are finally releasing globally the latest instalment of the VS franchise, one of the best fighting game franchise Capcom has to offer. All Tatsunoko characters are very true to the original anime and some Capcom characters appear in the fighting game genre for the first time. No reason to not to like it especially if you are familiar with the Tatsunoko franchise.

Is there anything funny that happened during the game's development that you can share with us?
I was scheming to be quick with Mega Man Zero development but because we received so much feedback from the fans we couldn’t possibly get away with a sub-perfect character. This did however mean we had to halt the character development and re-start from Zero. Haha.

Also, we were making Frank West to be quite realistic with his moves but in the end we had to moderate his moves because they became a bit too gory and we didn’t want this to raise the age rating...

Niitsuma-san encourages button bashing?

Interesting, I wonder how over the top Frank's moves were originally?
Mini-chainsaw brutal? Samurai Sword slicing? A disposable Zombie arm to beat people up with?

I wonder why they decided to use MM Zero from the X series and not from the Megaman Zero series. I think he looks cooler in the Megaman Zero series.

Cause fans were sick and tired of Zero in MMZ in another cross over. Plus Zero's moves in this game seem to work quite nicely and wouldn't have been as good if it were MMZ Zero.

As far as I know the Zero series design only crossed over into two games and one wasn't even made by Capcom. Omimusha: Blade Warriors (also had Megaman.exe) and SNK VS Capcom: SVC Chaos.

Well, I, for one, am really happy it's the original Zero... MMZ and even MMZX (it CAN be considered a Zero) are extremely ugly.

It's a shame they put in Volnutt instead of X, but it's better than Megaman from the MvsC 2. It'd be awesome to see a 8-bit version of Megaman in a fighter like this, tho. I can already picture the blocks moving XD
