Default Street Fighter EX Characters

Sorry to rant but I feel the need right now and I'm not putting this on the Ono suggestion thread.

Regarding Street Fighter EX questions. The EX series was great in my opinion but for years people have posted questions like why don't we see the EX characters anymore or will they appear in the next SF games?

Call me big headed if you want in saying this but the EX characters are owned by Arika and whilst not being a representative for Capcom it's pretty obvious that the EX characters will not return. They are not involved in Canon games and Capcom do not have the rights to them so no the EX characters will not appear in Super SF4 or any other canon SF game >_< If I'm wrong I'll eat my own hat.

I think this was pretty much covered on the earlier thread I made.
But it's not like there is harm asking such questions, correct? Things can change, things can be changed.

It's been said in nearly every thread which mentioned these AKIRA characters.
I just hope that one thread which explains it in the first post, rather then it being hidden away in other topics on the second or third page will have some effect on the amount of times the question to include skullomania in SSFIV is being posed...<_<

From what I can tell, the logic is that if people ask enough, Capcom may see them as viable enough characters to work something out that allows them to use them.
And though it may be a different kettle of fish, the fact Capcom did this with MvC2 or that we even got another Street Fighter has made some see how demand can make the "impossible" happen.

The difference there being that Capcom had the rights to the MVC games and although the license was sold to Activision they were able to pick a share of it back up. Also worth noting that Capcom actually made that game.

And in some people's eyes, if Capcom can pull that off with Activision, or get all the Tatsunoko characters bar one in the west they could pull off some licensing deal with the Arika characters.

I don't think they're wrong, but like you I doubt it will happen because as much as I love them, I don't think the EX characters have enough of a following to justify Capcom making the effort.

But some do, so they will continue to ask for it, and I can't really knock them for it.

the problem i think was that the ex games were never properly developed. the first two were early experiments in 3D. They were fairly clunky. Games like Tekken 2, star gladiator, soul edge and toshiden then built on that foundation and made it more fluid. Ex three was a launch title on a new and unfamilia hardwear and as a result was superceded by the likes of Tekken tag and virtua fighter 4. as a result, i don't think they gained much of a fan following and sort of died a death.
