resident evil 4 japanese prototype????

i just seen a different version of resi 4, its just like the original classics, its in japanese and it looks really interesting. Leon even has a different coat as well its alot darker then the one he has in the other resi 4.

This is what we call Resident Evil 3.5 because it was the original idea for the game before Capcom scrapped it.

I suggest that this topic be allowed to die before it turns into another Resident Evil 3.5 is better than Resident Evil 4 - Capcom screwed up topic.

That version is called Illussions due to Leon mostly fighting against hallucinations caused by being infected.

There was also The Fog, Unamed, and Devil May Cry.

Devil May Cry was the original RE4, but was so far removed from the series that they just decided to make it into a seperate series.

The Fog was pretty much the first version most people heard about...with a trailer of Leon walking through a stormy castle, getting hurt, being chased by a black cloud of somekind, and the voice over mentioning the Progenitor virus.

Illusions is the one you have just linked, where Leon goes up against the hookman (early version of Dr. Salvador, kind of), possessed puppets and living suits of armour.


Each version slowly brings itself closer to what we have now. You can still see the links that DMC has to the series though.

Dante looked a lot like an older Leon when DMC first came out. It is set in a castle and other ruined buildings, you fight spiders and puppets, etc, etc.

Yeh, it was in an interview where it was described as a zombie version. It was the last version before RE4.

I was used to look at this very interested back in the day when I was playing RE Remake. then RE4 was changed with different camera angles. its a ruined game.

Cool. All id ever read was that the making of said that they started on another one, but that was it.

I figured there was, at some point, a zombie version...but never heard anything to back it up.
