But i get called a CAPCOM fanboy from all my friends


But i just see myself as a gaming FAN!

I have to admit, I do like my PS3 and PSP a lot.

I absolutely hate that expression, it's got such a derogatory taste. I can't see what's wrong with preferring one platform/publisher/franchise to any other.

I guess I am a fan boy. I just have and always will own some form of playstation, so basically just sticking to what I know and love.

Yeah, ps3 is more expensive than xbox360 but you know what they say, for quality you have to pay ... and dont reply me on this quote, we dont want to start a war here, do we?

Fanboy? Nah. Enthusiast? Sure!

To me, the term "fanboy" is so loosely thrown around as a negative term that it's become immature and rather comical. It's childish mentality that has gripped the industry for many years, with enthusiasm for a certain product marred by a collective mind that deems any sort of enthusiasm as confrontational. You either 'like' something or be prepared for a war of words.

I'm a Capcom enthusiast first and foremost. Capcom is the one company I've had the most positive feedback (wrong term to use I know) in terms of the products I pay for. Other companies such as Insomniac have a place in my heart too. We could go in to franchises as well such as Devil May Cry, Resident Evil etc. too.

However, my enthusiasm for Capcom and the aforementioned franchises have pretty much marked me for life in terms of work, so I stand out as the "Capcom fanboy" when gaming discussions occur (which is all the time, given the area of work I'm in). :P

It's all very well being a fan and an ehthusiast. What bothers me is not the fact of someone preferring a label over the other. It's when they refuse to acknowledge the value in some of the opposing rivals to their brand and defend their taste as if it's life or death. Not only do they get over defensive but they get both immature and personal.
