Lightbulb A few tips for getting 72,000 kills

I recently nailed down a strategy that works for me. I felt obligated to share it with anyone else worried about this achievement. THIS IS NOT A WALK THROUGH. Just a few helpful hints that you can adapt to your own personal style. I say this because this is the type of mundane, monotonous, and painfully mindless task that is only rivaled only by standing in line at the DMV. So it is only natural that even the most obdurate walk-through would be strayed from when you hit around 20,000 kills and realize you are not even half way there. If you are having trouble finding any of the items mentioned in this guide, there is a spectacular map at http://www.msxbox-world.com/features...ng-2/index.php that can help you locate anything.

>>>Prep. Work

Just a few suggestions you should knock out before starting your quest for this achievement.
+Raise 3 million dollars
You will not need all of this, but you will want at least 2,650,000. I figured 3 Million is a nice round number.
There is a very simple way to do this. Grab the 3 gambling books. Gambling 1 is located in Ragazines R212 Royal Flush Plaza. Gambling 2 is located in Stan's Large Print Books & Magazines P206 in Palisades Mall. Gambling 3 is located behind the bar in the Shamrock Casino N106 on the Silver Strip (Same place as the SUV).
Then just go to the big slot machine in the Slot Ranch Casino and keep betting $1,000. I'd recommending putting your TV on Picture-in-Picture and watching a TV show or something. Once you clear out the zombies, you should not be disturbed. Just lean back and keep pressing the B button. After about an hour or so you will have more then enough money. If you have my luck, it may take a little bit longer.
+Buy the SUV key AND the Sports Car key
The SUV key is obvious. I choose to buy the Sports car key because it cuts down on the time you spend running back to give Katey her medicine. PLUS, adds a few more Zombie kills to the tally. The SUV key is 2 Million and located at the Pawn Shop across the way from the Shamrock Casino. The Sports Car key is 500,000 and is located at the Pawn Shop on the second floor of the Royal Flush Plaza.
+Be Level 50
This is not necessary. But it helps to have maxed-out Attack and Speed. If you are not Max, this will certainly help you along your way.

NOTE: I have been informed that some people have let Katey turn and the game did not end. Such was not the case for me. I got an ending screen and lost my progress. But if it works for you, then ignore Katey and focus on the Carmageddon.

>>>Let's Get Started

Save your game and restart the story. Make sure you know how to skip the introductions and Slice-cycles. (I just furiously press start all the way through it. It usually skips right to the Bomb Shelter.) That is is the only way to bring your keys with you. If you are not familiar with how to do this, practice on a different save game. Granted, you do not have to buy the keys ahead of time, it just saves time. The rest of this guide will assume that you bought the keys in advance.
Remember that this achievement is all about fighting the clock. Every second of wasted time counts. So any time you can save a few seconds buy doing something (or not doing something) should be seriously considered.
+Get the First Zombrex A.S.A.P.
Rush to the Pharmacy. You can jump into the first Maintenance room and make a spike bat. I like to ignore that and make the knife gloves at the second room. What ever you are comfortable using. Just do not waste too much time on making the weapon. Get to the Pharmacy and beat the brakes off of the Looters. Grab the Zombrex and leave WITHOUT the survivor. You will have some time before you have to give Katey her dose. So now head out to Fortune Park and start the Death Toll.

+Get in the SUV and start Rolling Zombies
If you are a Dead Rising veteran, this will come as second nature to you. Just pick a circular path and get your Nascar on. Go up one side and down the other. Make your own cyclical course. All the time aiming for the larger clusters. Try to avoid having to do three point turns; it breaks momentum. Ignore ALL cases except Katey's Zombrex and One Man's Trash.
When your SUV starts to smoke, drive to the Yucatan Casino and refresh the SUV by entering and exiting real quick and the SUV will be back at the Shamrock Casino. Do not let the SUV break down in the middle of driving it. This will cost a lot of time. If you find yourself in this unfortunate situation, immediately hit the map. Find the closest mode of safe transportation: Either the Bike in front of the Arena or the Ramsterball (covered below). Get to the Yucatan and Refresh the SUV.
The first time you walk into the Yucatan you will trigger the Snowflake boss fight. Just run back to the strip and ignore them. I believe this time wasted is a necessary investment, but you can just as easily refresh at the Sot Ranch Casino instead of the Yucatan.
+Grab the Driving Book from Bonnie Jack's BBQ Shack
This restaurant is in the back of the Americana Casino. The book is located next to the fountain drink machine right as you enter the restaurant.
The timing on this is awkward. You can do this first, before running to the Pharmacy. You can do this at any time while driving around Fortune Park. Or after giving Katey her dose. I recommend getting this first. But it is not terribly important. It is nice to have and highly recommended, but you can get along without it.
+When to Give Katey Her Dose
I prefer to wait until the bar is flashing red and white. That means I will not waste any time waiting in the security room. Just get in and get out. This is when the sports car key comes in handy. If you have to run to the safe house you run the risk of getting swarmed and pinned. At any rate if you miss a dose, Katey dies and you lose. So let's not allow that happen.

>>>A Few Do's and Don'ts
Just a few things that I think help the situation.
+One Man's Trash
This is very easy to do and is highly recommended. Just take a short break to talk to the looter. Once he opens the gate, run in and buy three doses of Zombrex. It should cost you $150,000 in total.
Without the pawn shops unlocked, you will have to hunt down the Zombrex stashes hidden around the city. That takes time: Time better spent painting an SUV with zombie brains.
+Unlock the Ramsterball
As with everything else, don't waste too much time on this. You unlock the Ramsterball when you pass the challenge three times. The Ramsterball is not necessarily for mass zombie kills, despite what some may say. It is, however, a quick and safe way to get from the Royal Flush Plaza exit to the SUV.
+Slice-Cycle: Yay or Nay?
Once you kill Leon Bell, you can combine a chainsaw with a motorcycle and have a Duct Tape Slice-Cycle. My vote on this option is Nay. Some people prefer the bikes. But I believe that it takes too much time to fetch a chainsaw and make the bike. Moreover, once on it you will be knocked off every 15 kills because the driving physics are painfully frustrating. Every Time Sync Hazard will throw you off, making them twice as bad. Furthermore, the bike does not have the coverage of the SUV. I suggest just using the bike as transportation to the SUV.
+Psychos and Survivors
Survivors? Forget them. I enjoy trying to run over Chad and Doris, but I wouldn't recommend stopping to pick them up.
Psychos might as well not be there. If you have the driving book, you will kill Leon Bell without even trying. Every time he hits you he knocks you back quite a bit. But he, in turn, deals massive damage to himself. So just go about your business and Leon will eventually kill himself or go home. The Ultra Conservative Snipers are easy to ignore; unless you break down in the Platinum strip.
+Saving
I save in the middle of Fortune Park. It is close to the Ramsterball. So that when I load I can hop in and be back in my SUV in no time. You also save after every Zombrex does.
I suggest saving this in a separate save slot. If you are max level, you will not need the PP. This way you are not tied down to this achievement. If you want to take a break and work on something else, you have another game you can play.
+Fighting the Mind Numbing Boredom
You are on your own for this one. I can offer ideas, but ultimately it is on you remain steadfast. I was in a party chatting with a a good friend for a good chunk of my time. He kept me distracted and in high spirits. The driving was second nature.
MUSIC HELPS! I have my laptop hooked up to my surround sound system, so I could play music to drown out the repetitive noises coming from the TV. If I may make a few recommendations: Aesop Rock, Cee-Lo Green, Bad Acid Trip, Meat Puppets, Busdriver, Cake, and Painkiller.
Make it into a drinking game. Pass the controller around and drink every 50 kills. This could be dangerous. In my experience, wobble water makes it easier to make stupid mistakes. So, I'd recommend saving often.
Do it in small chunks. Set a small goal, like 5000 kills. Once you achieve your small goal, save and do something else. The only problem with this is that when you load you will have to make your way back to the SUV. And that takes time.

>>>That's about It.
Like I said earlier, this is not a walk-through. Just a collection of things that work for me. Take what you like, leave what you do not like. I am open to contributions, suggestions, and/or feedback.
I am also more then happy to answer any questions. Hit me up here or on Xbox Live. My XBL tag is "EeT MeeL"

Nice 1 man but.... forget about givin Katey Zombrex Just get the SUV keys, save, restart the story and directly go to the SUV. Like that u have additional time to the 72h ingame. Also dont bother with the Bike n stuff, its just wastin time imo ^^

Im not sure if the 1st Zombrex is a MUST tho, but u can let Katey turn, i did it.

I love how people EVERYWHERE Just copy the part of getting the gambling books and playing the big machine in the Slot Ranch casino.... since the prize money on that machine doesn't change, weither you have the books or not.

It always gives you a multiplier of your starting bet (depending on the symbols, seen above the reel)

The gambling books give you more rewards if you play the static machines, especially the Megaman 10 ones found in Atlantic and Yucatan casino's (if you've gotten them to power on by saving Lenny.)

Really guys, help me out here and raise some awereness of this on the internets,
It pained me to lose so much time on that big slot machine, while using the smaller ones got me the extra million I needed in waaaaay less time.

Ok brother, lets do this:
The machines that pay out have a pile of money in front of them. If you are going to be a crusty jerk, try to be one that is more informed. Secondly, the three books help the pay average. All other guides aside, a good friend and I tested out the average winnings per hour. Surprise; having the three books earned 3 million more, on average, per hour. (Yea, that is what we do in our spare time)
But hey, pretend you know more about this. That's totally your right. If you do not like the guide, then do not read it. Go earn two million dollars trip-booking small machines making 1500 a spin. Only to move on after winning 5 times. But that is the great thing about this game. If watching an episode of your favorite show while you make money does not work for you ... c'est la vie. But my humble recommendation is that you spend an hour watching TV, or a movie, with Dead Rising 2 in a Picture-in-Picture: Making CRAZY money.
