Fanboy is primarily used to relate an unreasonable loyalty to a brand, rather than the products upon offer. Why, after all, be loyal to Microsoft or Sony when they are primarily console developers rather than game developers? It was due to the fact that the Sony exclusives were more in-line with my personal tastes that I opted to buy a PS3, not because it was a "Sony" console. That does not mean to suggest that the 360 is not a great console with great exclusives and services, it merely means that the PS3 better suited my personal tastes.

However, that does not mean to say I do understand the PS3's flaws(of which there are many) nor do I shout down the 360 just to spite it.

I could be considered a fanboy of a few game titles/series's. But that tends to involve outright promotion, recommendations and drooling whenever the titles are mentioned. The main titles being: Team Ico games, Onimusha, killer7, Psychonauts, Monster Hunter, Metal Gear Solid and antyhing from the classic PC Adventure days: Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Loom, Sam and Max etc.

I am also a bit of a devleoper fanboy for the following: PlatinumGames, Kojima Productions(or Kojima himself,) Suda 51 and Grasshopper, Fumito Ueda, Mikami and Double Fine.

Urk, being a "fanboy" is nothing to be proud of...

Disregarding others opinions purely based on personal preference of a product and either insulting or ignoring those who do not think the same, forever clinging on to a brand that only appreciates your money whilst lying to themselves that anything by that name is better than everything else...

Each of my consoles has its own purpose, I prefer Xbox360 due to its features and the fact that I hardly see a difference in graphics or performance as well as having cheaper games. My PS3 is a powerhouse, good for controls, exclusive games with decent graphics and audio. Wii is a novelty, different controls and a variety of unique games.

I consider being a "fanboy" of certain games series to be more along the lines of being a favourite series, I obviously don't own nothing but Resident Evil and Devil May Cry games and I am willing to critise both, it's more of a term of ease rather than specifics.

I was once devoted to Nintendo, all Nintendo rest is nothing. Any opinion referring to Nintendo as bad was opposed by me and I liked it not. I was overmature on what Nintendo had to offer and too far disregarding what happened outside of Nintendo, not realizing that later I would want more than that what Nintendo could offer. There are many sides of Nintendo that yet are incredible, while well, it's style has flown away and what I expect from nintendo is not there ... . Thus years, almost two decades, of having been a Nintendo Fanatic have ceased and I start to regret the time of having supported all that what came past the Super Nintendo. The wished to have a Playstation was too late, but I feel qualified enough to state that the PS1s Tomb Raider didn't really appear like a High Quality thing - look closer my friend - or as Bruce Lee once told: Be like the Water my friend, be like the water.

Guilty Gear, Hokuto no Ken, Sengoku Basara X, BlazBlue, you just got to admire the work they put into their 2D fighters (Battle Fantasia was a complete train wreck, tho).
