New Avengers movie...
I watched Avengers (assemble) last night and the movie is just full of win!
I won’t spoil anything here but hulk steals the show…. And you really need to stay until after the end credits as the next set up is quality!!! There are some brilliant comedy one liners in the movie… plus all the fight scenes are epic and the film is basically action from the start building up to an even bigger fight climax. Marvel are well on form with this!!
I had tickets and got there 10 mins before it started… sadly (although not unexpected really) the entire movie was packed so we had the last 3 seats at the front left of the cinema! Lol …thank god it wasn’t the 3d screening (although sitting that close to scarlett Johansson isn’t really a bad thing).
Hulk smash!!
Unrelated but I'm worried about the new Prometheus movie as they had a trailer for it before Avengers which must mean it’s going to be a 12A??

I will avoid this thread after this post.
Planning to watch it on Saturday I hope. Was super tempted yesterday but couldn't make it. It'll defintiely be a good movie despite how simple the story apparently is (though they do say it's no bad thing given the type of movie).
As for Prometheus, it could just be a recut trailer? Was there a new Spider-Man or Batman trailer? I know the US are getting these shown.

Saw it yesterday afternoon.
Great movie, while it did feel like a quota was being filled for who did what, it was well polished. Some of the dialogue is campy and almost 4th wall breaking, but its genuinely hilarious without being desperate.
The characters were well balanced and well spliced together from their respective movies, aside from Hulk obviously, since it's a different actor, but Mark Ruffalo played the role nicely.
For me, Loki stole the show, Tom Hiddleston was superb, he pulled off an irritating and arrogant villain so perfectly.
[Edit]Oh yeah, and Tony Stark wearing the Black Sabbath T-shirt was awesome.[/edit]
Also, the post-credits sting was brilliant, genuinely in awe for what they have planned next.

Literally about to head out to see it. Good thing about a midday showing is that it'll be mostly empty, kids are all at school, etc.
As for Prometheus, I've got the latest issue of Empire here, interview snippet with Ridley:

Right now I don't know where we are. The question is, do you go for PG-13, or do you go for what it should be, which is R? Financially it makes quite a difference, or the risk makes quite a difference, and yet you also have to apply the question - if you soften it, will you financially suffer? As opposed to just going for the throat and gambling. Essentially, it's kinda R. The little [children] will still get in anyway, so what's the difference? It's not about blood, it's about ideas that are very stressful. I'm not an idiot, but I'll do everything I can to get the most aggressive film I can.

Basically, it's pretty safe to say that if Alien or Aliens were to be released today, the age rating would be lower than it was when it first came out, because the rating system has changed and we've gotten far more used to the things that these films show to us.
Prometheus is likely to be just like Alien, maybe with a little Aliens and Alien 3 thrown in for artistic measure, but it just happens to have a lower age rating.

You guys will love it! I love Nolans Batman but where that's obviously quite dark (and works great) this is just an all out fun (and well done) super hero movie.

Straight after Prometheus they had a disney trailer for an animation called 'Brave'. I did laugh at that in the cinema (at least Prometheus isn't going to be U or a PG lol)
Prometheus looked nice from the teaser on the big screen so I'm sure I'll go and see it in the cinema in June anyway.

It was pretty good. There will be spoilers below so skip over this post if you haven't seen it already!
I ended up seeing it in "the second smallest screen" in Liecester Square's Vue though, which really, REALLY put me off. No indication on the differences were made so I felt quite cheated and robbed of my money. This, along with the slow beginning of the movie made it hard to get into but, over time the movie pipcked up more and more.
The later fight scenes were great and very well choreographed, switching between each character fluidly.
The one liners got a tad bit much, personally though still enjoyable. And I'm used to Spider-Man cracking these all the time in the comic so you'd think I'd be fine with it. Maybe I just have a deep dislike for Iron Man (because I think he's a douche....)
I do think Black Widow had more screen time than what I cared for. Same for Hawkeye. A few others felt the same but then another group felt they didn't get as much, which is true, too.
The Iron Man vs Thor fight was entertaining but, for a guy that has to stop Hulk on a regular basis, Thor had some trouble but I'll allow the excuse of "Thor was just holding back"... I bet he was.
I was slightly confused with Banner just turning the switch on for Hulk at the end. I assumed he learnt how to control it but wasn't sure how when. No real explanation was given but after watching Incredible Hulk last night on TV it made sense (he basically learns to control it at the end, in case you forgot or didn't see the movie).
Another minor issue but Cap had some serious makeup on. It worked well for Loki, giving him the pasty look but Cap just looked strange at times.
Anyway, it was a decent and enjoyable movie for sure. I'll be watching it again, on a bigger screen with better sound and at a chaper rate this week.

I was genuinely surprised by how much I liked Hawkeye and Black Widow. Considering Hawkeye had a minor part in Thor, and Black Widow was only in Iron Man 2 (which I consider to be one of the worst movies of the series) as the "zomg teh sexzy woman, skin tight suit!". But, they actually gave us something established, yet, new and interesting to see, because we hardly knew anything about them from the series' perspective. I especially like how they pulled off Hawkeyes arrows, they where pretty believable without getting too ridiculous.
The power balance seemed fine to me; . Since it's considered to be a Marvel universe in its own right, I'm guessing liberties were taken to make it more entertaining than it would've been in the comics without inciting too much nerd-rage.

Loki: I am a God!
*Smash, smash, smash, smash, smash*
Hulk: Puny God.
*Casually walks off, leaving a crushed Loki on the floor, half through it. XD
The film was good, awesome at points but not the best film ever. It was enjoyable and I liked some of the stuff at the beginning more than the end, but felt the flying ship scene went on for far too long.
Ironman also needed more film time, but I guess due to how strong his character is, they opted not to do that.
Still, I loved the little touches they added, like Ironman flying around, dropping down for a second to blast Captain America's Shield, killing multiple things with the laser deflecting off of it, only to fly off again casually, to carry on wiping out the rest of the robotic creatures.
It had some nice touches to it. It wasn't the best, but it was definitely good.
