View Full Version : Say hello to Chuck Greene

Wow. that article pretty much ruined my faith in the game up to this point, I was hoping that it would be a very different, instead it seems to be the same formula applied to a game that's slightly more honed than the original.
And "Chuck Greene"? What is that all about? are they trying to give him an ordinary "American" name? this feels like its going to be a big clichéd "Hollywood" mess already...

Someone in the comments suggested Stunt Man as Chuck's profession.
If this person is right, then this game could be great.
It doesn't bother me so much that they're sticking to the 72-hour thing, and just aiming for an increase in Zombies.
What does bug me is that they seem to be focusing solely on the Zombies.
"MOAR ZOMBIES!!" isn't particularly what I'm interested in.
I actually want a game that is playable to be honest.
DR1 is a great game, but I find it quite hard to sit down and play as a game...you have to play it as, like, a quest...sit down and complete in one run sort of thing (yes, I know you could save your place, but it wasn't exactly the most convenient of saving systems, was it?).
Hopefully DR2 won't just add more things, but will also improve upon the things that ruined DR1.
I guess it relies too heavily on his profession, thinking about it.
If its the same 72 hour system with more zombies and his profession is something incredibly boring, then we get Dead Rising 1.5, everything done more, but not necessarily better or worse, just more of the same.
Or
His profession could be the reason for so many zombies required, say that he is a stunt man, and this particular talent has consequences where he takes out several dozen zombies at once, and somehow uses this with weapons that would be limited or somehow lacking in the original, this would be the sort of realistic expectation for a sequel, that may actually surpass the original.
He could be anything I guess, stuntman seeming more than likely for being in Las Vegas (probably a play on a gambling concept), with each ability being a "stunt" which can be performed to lower damage whilst making everything else take damage.
I doubt he has an active military career or something that would suggest he is a fighter, more like an abused talent, for all we know he could be a dancer that prances around zombies...

And Frank West is one of the most unique names ever? >_>

That's not what I meant, Frank West is a believable "common joe" type name, Chuck Greene sounds like a macho American name, they may as well call him "Rip Razor" or something...
i thought capcom would bring frank west back!!!

I don't really see how Frank West could be relevant anymore. I feel that this story panned out well in the first game, and that was that. Now, it's time to see an outbreak through someone else's eyes. Someone with different goals and a different purpose.
He'll probably be in the story, but its going to be hard to include him in a sequel given his present condition, he isn't exactly a tough guy either, so, there's no real need to bring back Frank as a main character, he's probably going to be purely in the background.
