A recent article on Kotaku talks about the discovery of a countdown clock for a Capcom release. Through shrewd deduction and probably a lot of guess work they've come to the conclusion it's for Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Personally I want to see Resident Evil characters, and also Phoenix Wright characters even if it would be weird for a fighting game. :)

It would be funny to see Nick pull out an explosive badge to throw at opponents or Polly to pull out a hammer from the magical panties. :D
Do you reckon it would be like the new Street Fighter or just pure 2D action? It better have old spidey on it as he has some cool moves.

How comes you're asking for new characters when its MvC2 you mentioned? Save them for MvC3. Hopefully it is MvC2 (too much evidence) and hopefully it'll be a big enough success to warrant an MvC3. It just needs to happen! Mind you, I was always rubbish at the VS games anyway. My brain explodes from the hyperness.

@ DTK : Resident evil characters? This was the game that introduced Jill to the 2D genre, later adopting her moves in Namco X Capcom.

Best news to ever come out of...well...nothing.
But it's been sitting on the PartnerNet for almost a year now, so this is probably one of the worst kept secrets.
I wonder how online play will hold up? GGPO like HD Remix?

Marvel VS. Capcom 2 is available for years now.
Domme, it's probably a remake of the game in HD like they did for Super Street Fighter 2.
Going by the images of the achievements on the site in my previous post... I don't think it's a HD remake.
Just a port for the current generation of consoles, since it's been one of the most requested fighting games on the Xbox live and Playstation network.
If you have the original console version, and feel more like playing your friends rather then the world through an online mode, then it might be better to save your cash. ;)

Well, it's finally confirmed! Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the PSN and Xbox live. Summer 2009, the demo will come in a few weeks for the US.

.... I'm happy, but at the same time, I can hear my wallet crying.
It's definitely the summer of fighters... which means lots of money will have to be spent on KOF XII, MVC2, Blazblue (import probably.<_< ), Tekken 6 and there's probably going to be something else by that time.
I'm gonna be so broke. -_-

Truly is the year of fighting games. Pretty much getting the same you've mentioned, Jarlino, plus Tatsunoko (will probably pick it up along side BlazBlue in Japan). Doubt I'll get into BlazBlue though. Never really got into GG. More interested in KoFXII...which I so need to go check out. Cursed exams preventing me from going to see it! Gah!

Just so you guys know, the MvC2 demo is out on the US PSN. Unfortunately it's limited to local versus only.
if MvC2 will be costing what SF HD Remix did, i'm not buying. Looks to me like playing on gamers feelings a bit.
I expect it to be 1200 like hd remix was, i think thats a fair price though considering A used ps2 copy costs anywhere up to 40 quid minus the online and hd filter, they could charge 2000 G's and it would still be a bargain imho.

No matter Capcom remakes Marvel vs Capcom 2. Cable and Warmachine and Ironman will still pwnd BIG!

Prices for the PS2 and XBox version should have dropped by now. Actually, a chart showed the drop in the US prices once the game was anounced for a re-release. Don't know the link. Found it on digg a few days back. Rather just download it though to be honest. Using a PS2 on a HDTV just makes the games look horrible. I had a hard time playing Yakuza 2 at first just because HD screens really mess up the look of older games.
