Is Deadrising 2 just in a casino?

I think it's around Las Vegas so it might be mostly about gambling places like casinos. There's still lots of tricks that CAPCOM must have up its sleeve though. :)

It takes place in a Las Vegas clone called Fortune City. Going by the previews, they imply that we'll have the entire city to explore, which is brilliant.

Well, they said "Willamette" last time, and we only got the damn mall. :(

As far as I'm aware, we have access to "the strip" which is essentially a huge road with a tonne of Casino's on it.

I think it'll be much larger than DR1, but will still be confined to only a few areas.

We'll have access to several large buildings and small buildings at a guess, and a large outside area, and I figure it'll be at least 1.5 times the size of DR1.

An article I read also made mention of the fact that in las Vegas you can go from one end of the strip to the other without ever having to go outside, because of various walkways and pathways and tunnels they have...and it is suggested that these sorts of things will make an appearance in DR2.

But then... wont this mean we may have a dreaded "invisible wall" or.. they could do something good with it, like if you approach the "invisible wall" you see a US Army defence barricade and you get shot unless you back away.

It could be something as simple as a collapsed building, or a pile up of cars, or just a massive horde of ever respawning zombies.

It could be anything.

I've been to Vegas and as far as I remember, you can't go from one end to the other without stepping foot outside. Some hotels are linked by walkways etc. but most require you to get out and walk to the entrances.

Maybe the article was taking a bit of artistic license with the description, but the walkways are pretty much what they're talking about.

When did you go though? Because it might have changed since you went?

I wouldn't know to be honest...don't much care for Las Vegas in reality.

I went there around four years ago. They've opened a couple of new hotels since then, but the general layout of the Strip remains the same. No inter-linking walkways from what I know. Like I said, a couple of hotels could be linked (Bellagio to Caesar's Palace etc.) but not all of them. Especially the hotels on the opposite side of the Strip to the aforementioned places. They were a bit more tacky in appearance though.

However, I can see how this "idea" could be played in to Dead Rising 2, instead of giving us an entire Strip etc. to roam around on.

But you must remember this is only a game, they aint heading for an exact look of some strip in Vegas.
