Will deadrising 2 be online? I heard it won't be but i also heard it will so i do not know.

Multiplayer has yet to be confirmed for the game. There were rumblings earlier, but Laura Scholl corrected the situation. Laura's a producer for Mental Mill, a small developer involved with Dead Rising 2.

I do "think" their will be some sort of multiplayer implimented into the game but it still unclear what that could be.

yeah probs. it's a shame that the first one wasn't. It's a brilliant game and to me, probally the only way of making that game better would for it to be multiplayer.

I agree Spike, Dead Rising 2 is the perfect game to supplement a multiplayer feature. Run around areas with some friends, kill as many zombies in the allotted time etc. Oodles of potential here.
Ranked versus games? similar to Left 4 Dead except in 3rd person, also you could just be a small shuffler zombie instead of being an "uber-fast" Hunter and stuff. or maybe they may do something like that cancelled game "Possesion" where you're some sort of leader zombie that looks like Mr. X and you order around the zombies and can assign them in small groups and strategically attack places, although I'm going a bit far here I doubt they would do that JUST for multiplayer unless they really cared all that much about it. Still just a thought.
and just for fun. they could also have a free roam multiplayer for like 4 people?

This game SCREAMS for Coop multiplayer option. Make it at least 2 player coop if you can't make it 4 players, make it LAN, Internet (why have Internet-gaming ONLY when some people have 2 or more computers? For more Lag?), SplitScreen or One Screen, just MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! (Don't just add Internet play, add some of the above too!!!)
...or you could always make a thing for others to make mods for the game (PC Version).

Sadly no details have been said, only that "Yes, there will be Multiplayer gameplay as well"
Okay, now I'll use this thread to write down ALL of my ideas (about Coop, why? You thought we need to compete against each other in a Post-Apocalyptic World? That's dumb...).
So my Coop ideas, or how to make it into the game:
-I know there will be Net-play, but there should be at least ONE of the following options too:
a. OneScreen -> It could be like San Andreas on PS2 or Fable 2 on X360. There are 2 players, they move on 1 screen, and they can go wherever they like, BUT at a certain distance they can't move too far.
b. SplitScreen -> Like in The Warriors on PS2, where you are in a map (or a certain place), and you can move there freely. When you want to change the area then all players need to be at the door and be ready (like RE5)
c. LAN/System Link -> The MOST essential/best choice. Not many players have Internet, but some have more computers/consoles than one. Now if I want to play with my bro, then why the hell would I play with him over the Net, when our PCs are connected via LAN Cable/Router? To Lag like hell???
-Coop option could be Freeplay mode, which is TRUE Freeplay, not like in Dead Rising 1, where your health decreases over time.
-Another Coop option would be to do ANYTHING the players would like, go anywhere...etc, like in Saints Row 2 or Crackdown.
If someone has something constructive, then please write it down. I know I alway come up with Coop gaming + Dead Rising 2, but this game SHOULD have... no... it NEEDS Coop!!! If Resi 5 has 2 players, MH3 has 4, Lost Planet 2 will have 4, then why wouldn't this get 2-4 players???
So answer to this post, thanks in advance :D
I did expect multiplayer so I am not suprised.
But good news for the conformation on this.

When E3 kicks off we may here something then.
Ringing the UK no? To find out any news on the game and multiplayer?
Don't see what that would do as nothing on this has been announced we will just have to wait and see.

This seem's likely. As a lot of games that do Online play usually do LAN/Network.

But apparently we won't be hearing any DR2 info at E3 due to the travel restricitions on Japan at the moment. :( DAMN YOU SWINE FLU !!!

bout time there's a co-op mode in a Survival horror game (zombies) from Capcom. would love it in lan multiplayer or online multiplayer if you were able to move freely from room to room without your partner, so you could have two objectives that have to be fulfilled at the same time in order to get the best ending.
Or even the ability to choose wether or not to help the other person or become a maniac (stop them before they get the objective, start a cult).
oh man so many ideas from playing the likes of Resi, Dino crisis, devil may cry and the original dead rising.
