View Full Version : Will you buy a Wii for MH3?
Im a new member so I dont know if this was already posted but the main reason why I bought a ps3 was because of Monster Hunter 3. I personaly will buy the Wii to play MH3, Im no ritch person but in a way or another I will get it! Its my favorite game of all times!
I also would like to get the remake of Monster Hunter G for the Wii but for now its a Japan exclusive...
well i already own a wii but if i didnt then i proberbly would buy one for mh3, and yea i hope we get G even though its a port it would still be cool to have as i never had the ps2 version

MH3 was one of the reasons I picked up a Wii.
stupid as it might sound, i got my wii specifically because of mh3, BUT i ended up enjoying some games with my family, and playing some of the new old classics, so to say.

To be honest, I don't have a Wii at the moment and I won't buy one for MH3.
I like Monster Hunter but it's a game that for me is more suited for gameplay on the move.
I look forward to whichever game arrives for PSP after Monster Hunter Freedom Unite..
I bought a Wii because of the news that MH3 was only going to be on that console. However like people have said the Wii has some great games out for it which i have really enjoyed and are different to the types of games i would usually play on the PS3 and 360. I feel like i have already got my monies worth out of the Wii and there are still many great titles still coming.
Back to the topic, I would like to see Monster Hunter G come out in Europe (even though i have completed it on the PSP) also, as i like the online multiplayer aspect of the game where you can meet different members of the MH community and get to hunt monsters with them in a team.

In my case ur question is askin me 2 question. The one u intended to ask n one if id buy a jpn console with jpn MH3. Im thinkin bout that, i want to get a jpn Wii with MHG on 23. April, but if its too expensive ill pass.
Ive heard that MH3 will not get a release outside, i dunno if its true, but if it is ill get a jpn Wii, no matter what :D
i think they hinted that mh3 is comming to america/europe, though we will proberbly hear at either captivate or e3 whether its confirmed

I already have a Wii. And to be honest I wouldn't buy a Wii for it. It might give me more of a reason to buy one, but I wouldn't get any console for a single game.

Monster Hunter Freedom was the reason I bought a PSP!
Fortunately I have a Wii too so of course I'll buy MH3, not only is it great but MH3 on Wii even rhymes! :D

I agree with EliteFreq, I'd never buy a console for a single game.
Every console or handheld has it's perks and charms, which is why I buy everything when it has some decent games released on it. To be honest I'm not that blown away with the PS3 yet, only has a couple killer games exclusive to it. If MH3 had come out on it I would probably use it a bit more than I do....bring on febuary

i wouldn't buy a wii for MH3, either way ill wait untill Capcom makes a MH for Xbox360/PS3, or ill just keep playing monster hunter on the PSP.

I already own a wii, but if I hadn't I wouldnt buy it for MH3. The game is AWESOME, we all know. But though it's still just a game :P

ill be getting a wii for mh3, darkside chronicles too but if monster hunter was the only game i was interested in on the wii i'd still buy one for it.

I dunno if he/she meant it like this but in comparison with the old Monster Hunter games MH3 is a half-done game, content-wise (monsters etc., not things to do). I'm not saying it's an unfinished game, not at all, I mean can you imagine how big it will be after 2/3 updates? If it get any it is?

Too bad because that's the closest you'll get to a Monster Hunter title on PS3 for now and I know many will be playing that demo on PS3 next week. :D
Anyway, yes, I will probably buy a Wii for Monster Hunter 3. :p The Wii is apparently getting a price-cut soon too and many of my hunting partners are also tempted in playing that Monster Hunter 3, whether they already have a Wii or not. However, we still see Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Monster Hunter 3 as two separate Monster Hunter experiences that definitively can cohabit and we'll be rooting for a Monster Hunter title on PS3 while we play it on our Wiis and our PSPs, occasionally through our PS3s. :D

I just managed to sort myself a demo of MH3 (the Japanese version that came with Monster Hunter G) and I'll be at the first-to-play event. I'll post some impressions when my demo actually arrives :)
I bought a Wii for a few different reasons in the end - but being able to play MH-Tri is a great benefit! I think I prefer the idea of MH as a portable experience but when watching the videos of MH-Tri on YouTube I can't not drool. lol.

just becourse MH3 is on Wii they are refusing to buy any other capcom games on Ps3.
Sega bring exlusive games to the Wii that arn't on other consoles and you don't see people boycotting them and it's the same with Konami, Square Enix, Ubisoft and many many other companys.
If these people were real fans they would buy a wii for it and then they would be able to enjoy many other top nocht exclusive the console has and is getting.
So what if it does not has the power of the ps3/360! It does not need it

I have a wii already and will definately be getting MH3. To be honest I think the game will be about the only decent title out on the Wii and will make it worth owning at last. So far I have found to Wii to be a pretty dissappointing console and most games for it are either incredibly short or have limited replay value.
I'd rather see Tri on a better console but I can understand the commercial decision to release it on the Wii. Can't wait to play it.

Urgh. I'm not gonna by a home Console version that has 1/4 of the stuff offline and 1/2 the stuff online that Freedom Unite had in 1 GAME. And it's even worse that the game is on nothing but a glorified etcher sketcher.
Both this game and the Wii hold no value to me at all because I know (and everybody else eventually), in about a years time there will be a revision to this game which WILL make MH3: Tri pointless instantly since it lacks a lot of aspects from the series and is pretty much empty.
As for the Wii, other than Darkside Chronicles and House of the Dead Overkill (which is poor due to bad programming and poor Wii processing) this console has nothing but shovelware and overpriced accesories. Capcom would have been better off making this game for Gamecube, at least then I would actually consider renting it.
Don't get me wrong, I love Monster Hunter. I just feel the game is rushed and far from finished making Monster Hunter Tri a game highly dislike. I'll say I told you so when MH: 3G comes out.
EDIT: Oh and by the way, they took out a lot of old monsters and what did they replace them with...

A anouncment is not a promiss.
Many things can happen after annoucment to which may change the orriginal plan.
The Ps3 did not sell as well as first thought when it was releasd and it was harder and more expensive to develope for than the Wii which was shifting units like no tommorow so it made busines sence to change the format.
I as I have said many times to you which seems to have fallen on deaf ears. "Capcom have not ruled out a MH on PS3 but don't have any plans right now, but that could well change"
To be honnest I blame sony for making the Ps3 to expensive to start with which hinderd sales. (the anouncement of MH3 Wii was made whilst sony were charging £425 for the ps3 and the uptake was not that good compared to the Wii at £179.99)
But moan and complain all you want if your boycotting capcom becourse of this then good luck as it's your loss.
This is why I own all consoles as may things can happen with games I want.

The ps3 version was cancelled and the Wii version announced whilst the ps3 was expensive which was quite a while ago.
Now the ps3 is cheaper and more people are buying it maybe Capcom will announce one for the ps3 once 3 is released.
I am fed up of these silly arguments and fan boy rabble about no ps3 version announced right now so this topic can go bye bye as we are going over the same thing time and time again and it's annoying having to repeat myself.
MH on ps3 is still possible
If you want to play MH 3 get a Wii simple.
