Www.nohopeleft.com possibly new RE or OPC site?
A strange website has been causing a stir in the gaming community this week. A blog depicting images of several run down areas with graffiti scrawled across various places may just be hinting at the next Resident Evil game. Go to www.nohopeleft.com to view it.
Resident Evil has been a long-running hit in the gaming community; to date totalling 5 main games and various spin-offs. Famed for its tense, scary scenes for over a decade Resident Evil has gained monumental popularity with both gamers and horror-junkies alike. Given the success of it's predecessors mixed with some fan-felt disappointment for RE5 being "Not scary enough" Resident Evil 6, although unconfirmed, is bound to be a work in progress.
So what relevance does this cryptic domain have to do with a future Resident Evil game? Well, not too much as of yet. At present, everything is largely speculation. Major points of interest include biohazard symbols on many of the photographs coupled with the phrase "no hope left". Anyone with any knowledge of the Resident Evil series will know that it is named "Biohazard" in Japan. Pair this with the "no hope left" tagline and we very well could have the formula for a zombie apocalypse. Another notable point of the website is an Asian woman's apparent video to her partner about how she's safe from whatever is outside, ending with a sudden jolt. Does this again hint at zombies?
Although nothing has been directly confirmed from Capcom, Whois results have found an interesting connection whereby the website in question and another Resident Evil viral site are using the same identity protection service. Could this be evidence enough to ride our hopes on a new game? After being a long term fan of the series from the PS1 days I certainly hope so.
So, do you guys think this could be a viral marketing attempt? If it is, what would you like to see in the game? Personally, I'd like a return to it's roots. Mr X jumping through a wall scared the life out of me when I was younger. I'd love to experience more moments like that should RE6 go ahead.
Thanks for reading. Post your opinions below.
