Hello there peeps, my fiance is a big fan of this particular series and has played all but the first game.
She currently owns the others in the series, but has never been able to find a copy of the first game.
I was wondering if anybody knew where to get a copy for around £20 (as much as she is able to spend), or is willing to trade a copy for £20?
I thought I'd try here, considering this is the official forums and I know people here can be quite useful in times of gaming need...

Hmm, do you mind purchasing online, or would you rather prefer to buy the game in stores?
Also, do you mind if the game is brand new or pre-owned?
All the major retailer sites are either sold out, or are selling the game for prices beyond your limit (which in turn, is rather ridiculous in itself due to the overblown prices on show).
My suggestion to you is to find some game stores and dig through their second-hand section. Each store (irrelevant of the chain) has a different batch of second-hand titles, which can result in you finding a title that you've been searching for for a long time. You may have tried this already and if so, move on to second-hand specialists like Cash Converters. There are various different second-hand retailers so you might have some luck. You can find some rare gems among these sorts of stores.
The last real viable option is to go to Ebay. I've seen the game on there for some low prices, and I have yet to stumble on another solution...unless you don't mind importing. Of course, paying for the import fee etc. can result in you paying over your limit, yet you may also be lucky and find the game on a cheap, with the import fee on top still not going over your budget.
Good luck fella', and if I hear/see of anything then I'll be sure to let you know.

We've searched online and either found them going from £40+ or when they are cheap, they are being sold as Cartridge only (which is just ridiculous).
We don't mind second-hand, it is often much cheaper that way, but we do prefer to get our games in their cases.
Cheers for keeping your eye out though, it'd be quite helpful.

It seems to have become really rare problably because very few were printed. As it was the first title maybe CAPCOM and Nintendo which published were using it as a trial to check how popular it would be.
Do any of these on amazon uk interest you? A few quids over £20 but not over the usual £30 RRP.
I still play on mine once in a while and it's worth every penny. :D

A few sellers on play also have it for around £30

There's always the Japanese version which I think has english settings:

Only £13 + postage Japanese version but with English:

I find the google shopping area to be very handy when looking for something too:

Good luck as the game is worth the trouble.

There was a copy sitting around at my workplace. It was no more than *converts* 17 pounds. If the copy is still there tomorrow I will go pick it up for you.
I'll shout ya postage and stuff.

My Fiance says that if it is there and you are able to send it, put a return address with it and she'll be happy to send the money back for you :)

I think I've seen several copies down here in Holland. Could look into it, but I can imagine the shipping being a real pain. Let me know!

TZM, are you still interested in this? I am just wondering what payment methods you can use to pay me before I send it off?

We are still interested in this, but the best we can do payment wise is to actually send you cash in the post. Neither of us have a PayPal account or any way to get one.
We are happy to pay for postage and everything if you let us know how much it is. But it is up to you I guess.
I promise, 100%, that you will recieve the money.

This is what you'll be getting. Are you okay with that? >_>
Basically, send me your address so I can calculate postage. I'll get you a full figure (in pounds >_>) and then we'll see where we want to go from there.
=)
I saw this in my indipendent store today for £60 2nd hand.
He said it was the first copy he had in:eek:

Sorry, completely missed this.
Have you bought the copy yet? How much would it cost to send over to the UK?

This has been so confusing. =P
I'll look into it tomorrow. We will then have a definitive answer. Sorry for all the confusion, TZM. Been so busy with final exams. =(

It's all good.
I understand. It's been a busy and confusing few weeks for me also.
I only got the first one(I think I got it for 20 quid) and then never got any others since i got stuck on the very last level-thing and just gave up with it, since I don't really want to use an online guide or anything.

Okay, here's what I've worked out.
The game itself costs $26.70 AUS (which is extremely good because I got a good deal because of where I work) however the postage is not 100% confirmed. Upon calculating postage to the UK, we've got two options, apparently it'll be either $4.10 or $10.70
The amount of postag paid depends on some criteria (size etc.) which I was unable to verify over the internet, so I will have to go into my store tomorrow and check with the post office.
So, totals are: $30.80 (Approx 15 Pounds) or worst case scenario $37.40 (Approx 18.1 Pounds)
Is the price to high for you TZM or would you like me to go and send it away? If so, PM me your address and we'll be all dandy =)

Corr. That's an excellent price especially considering how much it is around most places. High 5!:thumb: and thumbs up apparently.

The game came today, after a bit of hassle chasing down the Postman where he knocked on the door and left a few seconds afterwards (giving us no chance to actually answer the door).
But yeah, we've got it and Lindsey is playing it now.
We'll get the money to you as soon as we possibly can James.

I threw a little something extra for you too TZM, since I knew this wasn't for you specifically. It was an XBLA card, please tell me you received it! >_>

Lol, yeah, I got it. My 360 is still broken at the moment, so I haven't checked if it all works good yet.
But yeah, I'm very grateful for it ^_^
When we send the cash back to you, do you want it in Australian Dollars, or would you prefer it in the UK Pound?

You have not been able to get it fixed yet :(
My nephews 360 died Rang MS up monday 22nd June UPS picked it up tuesday 23rd June and got it back Tuesday 30th.
They are not happy it broke but happy it only took 8 days from ringing them up to getting it back.

I was quite impressed with the speed of the 'repairs'. A friend of mine, bought an 'Elite' the day after he sent off his 360, expecting it to take ages, and got his 360 back within 5 days of sending it. I got mine within about 5 days off sending it too, both times.

Australian dollars would be ideal, but if that's too much of a hassle, the pound is fine. I'm close to almost everything here living-wise so it should be easy to get it converted.

It's mostly due to the hassle of phoning them up and sorting things out. I'll get it sorted soon enough though.
