Paul Carson’s T-shirt has a skull resembling “Sparda” from the Devil May Cry series, look closely and you’ll notice a pair of horns hidden by Paul’s jacket, and in the middle of his forehead is a hole, exactly where Sparda’s third eye is.
“Jill’s Sandwiches” and “Chris’ Fine foods” are named after the Resident Evil protagonists Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield respectively, “Jill’s Sandwiches” is a pun on a joke Barry Burton made in the original Resident Evil game, Barry rescues Jill from a room with a falling ceiling that would crush her to death had Barry not saved her, he remarks “You where almost turned in to a Jill sandwich!”.
Arthur’s briefs are rewarded on completing 7-Day survivor, these are a direct reference to Ghouls n’ Ghosts, where the protagonist, Arthur, would lose his armour on being hit, he would continue in his briefs until he either died or got new armour.
“Bachman’s Bookporium” is a reference to Steven King’s pseudonym, Richard Bachman.
“Child’s Play” is a reference to the horror film of the same name.
“Crislip’s Home Saloon” is named after David Crislip, the localization translator.
The brand name “Megaman” can be seen on Frank’s watch.
Servbots from the Megaman Legends series appear as cameos in the main game, a giant servbot display is found in “Child’s Play”, ironically bigger than Frank despite the Japanese name (Kobun) means “Little follower”, the servbot helmets can be used on zombies to blind them, the clown boss, Adam, has a servbot badge on his long tailed coat, the seven day survivor achievement picture also features the servbot on a zombies head covered in blood, it also featured in several advertisements for Dead Rising.
