View Full Version : RE4 or clasics for PS3. a chance?
why not? for example RE4 wouldnt be such a hard drama to develop since RE5 is the same engine just a bit improved. they would probably need to upgrade the graphics but thats all. RE5 moves and reacts exactly like RE4, a new lay out and that would be,... now with online gameplay in the mercenaries and perhaps some new content. they could even do it like xbox and eidos did with Tomb raider. once u purchaded one game you could download the next gen content for the 360 game. perhaps once you own the RE4 one could buy on the network the super sized graphics and extra contenct for the RE4 next gen...
as for the clasics... why not? seems like they upgraded the zero, and the remake into wii, if its so they could add also paste some new textures and upgrade it to PS3 Xbox and if possible, this time i would even try to add 2 different gameplays,... one based only on the fixed camera from the original and a second gameplay style based on RE4. imagine? playing RE remake with RE4 controls? cool eh?
Not sure about this one I do own the ps2, PC and Gamecube versions.
I was playing the ps2 version on my ps3 till it died and my new one is not backwards compatable:cry:
well they can always sell a ps3 version on blue ray, just like since some players would have already bought the PS2 and would already have it, for them the downloadable contenct should be cheaper than for those who dont have the game at all.
they surely can think of a nice sales plan... i just think its a waste not being able to play RE4 online and with super graphics since it isnt really better than RE5.
i would also claim for the addition of blue emblems in RE4 to unlock new stuffs:D
It's not that easy, Wii and PS3 are completely different systems.
And besides, is there really a point? all the games are available cheap on Gamecube and other formats, RE4 just got re-released as a Wii port, as with the RE0 and REmake, so I doubt that we'll be seeing those on PS3 any time soon. The some of the original PSone games have been rumoured to have a release on the PSN store, because there are going to be alot of Capcom games headed there, its only natural to assume some of those are RE titles, and some are already available in Japan.
I don't think that the size of the games would justify a sole release on Blu-Ray for each, that would cost too much money and I doubt that anyone would want to buy a half-decade old game in shiny clothing, Additional content would indeed be fleeting, would they honestly include hundreds of new guns and enemies? I doubt that, for what it is, the whole venture would be worth it.
its not about of what one believe, its rather what one woud buy.... im sure many people would go and buy a resident evil remake for ps3 if they manage to craft it well....
perhaps REmake with 2 game modes... one survival horror, and a second one RE4 action directed one.
also adding the the UC levels... those where wesker escapes the mansion and where rebecca meets "richard"...
perhaps even online. one play with one character and depending on what one does or not may encounter barry or rebecca and/ or if the player desides it to meet with jill or chris along the game, like both together... the posibilities are quite a lot...
same could happen with REzero.

Once again, time and money that Capcom would be wholy unwilling to spend when they are clearly content with just porting the titles between the consoles.
And honestly, there is a lot more work behind it than just changing a few textures, or swapping some control schemes.
And RE4 and RE5 are built on 2 different engines, they just playing similarly.
As for the whole point behind it...are we SERIOUSLY talking about remaking RE4 here?
I get why people ask for remakes of the older games...but seriously? RE4?
different engines?? RE4 is basicly the same engine just with perhaps some upgrades... the entire idea of the new engine being developed where chris wuold even grow beard was long forgotten. the RE5 isnt anything different from RE4 with better textures. really.
i dont go for a RE4 remake. im all for a port from ps2 to ps3 so that i can, still believing in a compatibility patch for the guncon 3 (like dead aim was compatible with guncon 2) to play RE4 and RE5 in my ps3 and not on a last gen console.
capcom on the other hand loves to port games from one console to others... got RE0, REmake, RE4 GC exclusive, and then RE0, Remake manage to jump into wii, not only the same versions but also into a RE UC, RE4 got into ps3, pc and wii, even RE2, RE3, CV got ported into GC when it was obvious they were ps1 gen and not ps2/gc ones... so i dont think its hat hard for them to do something they are kind of used to do.

Yes, different engines. They look like the same game because they are built upon similar mechanics...but they are built with different engines entirely.
Just the same as RE1 looks and plays in a similar style to REmake, but they are built using different engines.
I assure you, it isn't as simple as different textures.
As for getting RE4 on a current gen console, it is available on the Wii...which is current gen.
So many people own atleast 1 of the consoles or platforms that RE4 is available on, so there is little to no point in releasing it on the 360 or PS3. I could, however, see Capcom doing it in the future.
But it certainly won't recieve any sort of upgrade to the point that you're asking...

Maybe a few years down the line till fill the void between Resi 5 and 6, but i doubt it.
If anything most Resi fans want Resident Evil 2 re-made and to a lesser extent Resi 3 but they are much older games(me i want new games and not remakes). At the moment a Resi 4 re-make or even port is not needed IMO due to nothing ca be added to make it more apealing unlike Resi Re-birth.
As for Dead Aim that was a gun con 2 game anyway which you could play with the dual shock 2 but it was dreadfull with the dual shock 2 as it was designed for the Gun Con 2
But if your wanting the Resi 4 with the guncon 3 layout just buy the wii version as it is basicly the same thing.
