View Full Version : Who Would You Like To See Return To The Series?
Providing that the reboot doesn't include characters, i would like to see HUNK, Barry And Carlos in the next game.
I wouldn't mind a game played from the prespective of Hunk, or some other Umbrella mercenaries from the past games, maybe a prequel?.

I'd like to see Capcom actually finish off the storylines of all the characters...
So:
Billy Coen, Rebecca Chambers, Barry Burton, Sherry Birkin, Claire Redfield, Leon Kennedy, Carlos Oliviera, Nicholai Ginovaef, Steve Burnside, Ashley Graham, Ada Wong, Ark Thompson, Lott & Lilly Klein, Fong-Ling, Bruce McGivern, and the various survivors from Outbreak.
i was quite insulted by the end of RE5 where i saw that on the mercenaries there wasnt any of the previous big characters,.. WHY???
Ada: previously worked with wesker and was present in REUC and in RE4 as secundary characters. i think she played a rather important role and therefore important and a great price to play her along other characters.
Hunk: i mean. he was kind of the first character ever to belong to a merc game, back in RE2. i know he wouldnt be important for the story mode. but then again he wasnt for it in RE4 and yet he was there.
Claire: she should be rendered by now, knowing that she will return in a RE2 remake for wii. she also was part of RE Degeneration. in other words this way it would mean among other things that her story wasnt forgotten. mixing RED and RE2 to the envents from RE4 and RE5.
Leon: well ... he kind of was the main character in a game that save RE from oblivion to many. no better said that being a kick ass character from a not so different RE.
i wouldnt have included so many outfits as possible in the mercs mode.

Yeah, I agree with most of those, not so much Fong-Ling and Bruce McGivern, since I like to think of Dead Aim being fairly contained.
I don't want to necessarily see them fully in the (virtual) flesh, just what happened to them would be enough, especially the canonical ending of Nicholai, Steve and Billy.

Aside from HUNK, who was mostl thrown in because he was also part of the Leon and Ada storyline (kind of), all the Merc characters in RE4 were characters from RE4.

for the hell of it? do you think playing safari chris, disco sheva or even amazon was part of the story, of the backgrounds of the characters, or just something kitsch? instead of having those 3 choises in the mercs game they could have added other characters,...
ada was working for wesker in RE4, and just like that he got jill and now theres no ada anymore? what happened to her, she was important in RE4 in REUC and in RE2, she is a part of weskers plan, and therefore i would have added her.
Leon, may not be as important for the plot,.. but definitelly a better character to play than a safari chris? or a disco sheva? i mean... i find it a bit dumb to include the barbie costumes instead of other characters that may add replay value, just for the sake of it...
even claire. she was kind of once again a central role in the CGI movie. theres a dialogue between her and leon talking about chris, and how he took a different way than hers, and she was even in the commercials. she fought wesker once in CV, and she is about to return with leon in the wiimake of RE2. so YES... she deserved a spot in RE5 mercenaries.
hunk... sure,.. just for those who are fans of him. to add variety....
(i dont think adding krauser, lisa trevor, or who knows whom else would have been a good idea... but those mentioned before... definitely...)

Ada betrayed Wesker at the end of RE4, hence why she is not involved in the plot of RE5. Admittedly she could have been, but there was no mention of The Agency, and no furthering of that part of the plot.
The reasoning for this? Ada is almost exclusively a part of Leon's story, and near enough everything to do with Ada is also exclusive to Leon's story.
Agreed, playing as Safari Chris or Disco Sheva isn't great...they could have done something better...
But characters that have no relevance to the game you've just played? Why? Why not Josh? Or Irving?
And honestly, just because the other characters have made recent appearances, why does this mean they should be included in Mercs? They've already HAD their appearance. RE5 Mercs is trying to make you focus on the characters of RE5, same as the RE4 Mercs made you focus on the characters of RE4.
HUNK is the only character in RE4 Mercs that wasn't in the main game of RE4, and he was thrown in for fan service.

Claire Redfield. She's not been seen in a while, but Barry would be good to see again as well.
Still want to see the return of Barry Burton I would love to see him again hopefully in a game of his own but if not that atleast cameo or sidecharacter.
Becca too
Would been perfect too see both of them in the same game perhaps,Barry having 2 daugthers in her age (or somewhat younger) I guess they could develop some sort of father and daugther bond while figth bows.
Sherry too is one character I want to see return but as hopefully seen in the new wii title together with Claire and Leon perhaps then.
Nicholai is one of the villians I want to return if he now is alive that is depending which ending they choose cus I heard the one with Barry came to the Jill and Carlos' aid is the offical one?
Nontheless if he still alive would be cool to see him.
Perhaps Carlos,Billy and Hunk aswell then we guess we can say all living ones.
But Becca ,Barry and Sherry more then others after all they where two of the STARS survivor so would have loved to have seen some conclusion regarding them and see what Wesker thougth was so strange about Sherry.
Wonder if we ever will get conclusion to any of those above I mean seems Capcom ended main saga with RE5.
