View Full Version : So did this game get fixed?

I haven't played this game in months! When I last played it it was matching me up with players I didn't stand a chance of ever beating because they were massively, massively better than me and then I lost points for the humiliation as well. I'm never going to be able to learn 90 hit combos with air crossovers etc but I did enjoy playing with people at my own (low) skill level.
Then there was paying for the shadow matches. So if I refuse to pay for these I'll never fill in all the little boxes! Feels like i'm being punished for being a completist!
On top of that were any more DLC characters launched? I bought and enjoyed Shuma Gorath but wasn't interested in Jill.
Any reason for me to load this back into the PS3 or should it just stay on the shelf looking good in its steelbook case? I don't really like comparing this to MK but that is so more accessible and its so much easier to get a fair game against someone at my skill level. I have no one I can play this with at home so thats not an option. Basically did Capcom "fix" this?
Its online or nothing!

MK thrashes this game offlinewise too. Strangely I get the feeling like games suddenly evolved but that's obviously not true.
I love the Marvel and familiar Capcom characters but that's really the only thing this game has going for it IMO. Everything else is + for MK.
Isn't MK also broken online though (last time I had a go its was a serious lag fest)? Also I've had two friends on mk9 recently have their save games go corrupt for no reason at all resulting in them losing everthing (apart from the DLC). :(

The lag has been fixed but the fix has produced further online problems, but these arent gamebreakers despite what some people say, just occasional desync problems where the game drops you back to the menu before you manage to get into the fight. And I can't speak about corruption issues as I haven't had any.
BUT, these problems arent anything like the online probs for MVC3 which mismatches you and then punishes you for losing which was my original question. I'm not pitting one game against the other as they're different games.
Any more DLC worth downloading here or on its way?
Would be nice to hear from a CAPCOM representative or employee directly :)
Concerning DLC characters, the only thing that has been said by Christian Svensson is "I can't say anything but don't mistake silence for disinterest" on Capcom's part.
I'd like to know why he has to say that instead of saying something like "We're working on something but can't tell you" or "We're thinking about it but haven't made a decision yet." Instead we get this ominous "don't mistake silence for disinterest" nonsense like we're cows who don't have anything better to do but sit on Capcom's doorstep. What, did he receive a death threat from aliens forcing him to say that?

Yea that comment to me is like saying "We're curious about what people want to see. We might do DLC one day or use the info when doing sequels or maybe it won't do anything"
Really it has been so long? Are you Capcom guys still thinking about who you should include? Like you get limited chances to do perfect characters? I for one would say that by thinking less and doing more you would have served fans and yourself much better.
- Megaman
- Phoenix Wright
- Venom
- Cyclops
- Gambit
- Leon Kennedy
- Doctor Octopus
- Daredevil
- Doctor Strange
- Red Arremer
- Wayne from Lost Planet
- Frank West
- Ms. Marvel
Atleast everyone above has had atleast moderate interest which should mean a lot if each character costs the old $5 unless not many are willing to pay that kind of prices.
Apparently Capcom doesn't like money because they could make so much dough if they released any characters at any price.
But if they make a Super version with a replay function then they should patch the replay function into the current version first -- for free.

Yeah i inititally really enjoyed MvC3, played it online for a month or so until i got totally outclassed and ive barely had it on since. I downloaded all those ghost fights just to get some extra play out of the game but i was really hoping for extra fighters, certainly Ono-San seemed to suggest that there would be some on the way but it never happend.
So now im back playing Blazblue and Mortal Kombat waiting for Streetfigher X Tekken and hoping to hell that they dont have the same dlc drought there.

So there was no match fix, no more downloadable content and basically no support for people who weren't getting fair match up fights?
This could be the last Capcom fighter I ever buy!
Its not like they have the market sewn up anymore and can afford to just sit back as theres no viable alternative. In my opinion Tekken 6 was easily as good as SSFIV and MK far outclasses MVC3.
Shame really as MVC3 has so much going for it in its own right but if Capcom aren't prepared to listen to what fans problems are and address them at some level (even just being told to jog on would be something) then I'm not prepared to financially support Capcom. There are other products out there far more deserving of my cash that are at least supported after release.
At least NRS are releasing 4 extra fighters and giving us 8 free skins/costumes. What did Capcom give us free with this? One shadow pack! And their DLC characters are cheaper!
Shame on you Capcom! Talk about steamrollering your fans!

I think most of us would have been happy with some additional fighters and maybe some backgrounds, the last two fighters i bought before this (Mortal Kombat and Blazblue) all got some form of dlc in the form of fighters so maybe im just getting spoiled lol.
There have been nearly 10 shadow packs, all going for 80 ms points each, i played them a couple of times but they got a bit dull after a while. To be completely fair, i have had a lot of fun with the game, unlocked pretty much everything i was able to and i even liked the character endings so i probably got my moneys worth. I dont see me putting it back on any time soon though, that said though, SFIV just got a pretty substantial update and its been out for ages so maybe they are just taking their time. Am i being too hopefull?
