I think ill wait until my lite dies first, or when the camera becomes too common to ignore.

Its not surprising me that its selling well. After all its the 'new' handheld out.

Despite being a nintendo fan I'm not very keen on it myself from what I've learnt of it they have removed two reason why the DS was better than the PSP (to me anyway) 1) the backwards compatability with previous game boys and 2) making it no longer region free.

So not only do nintendo remove the chance of people playing classic games they also make it so most fans won't be able to import or pick up the rare gems that never make it to some countries.

I'm kinda angry about this somewhat, I mean these kids these days already have a DS lite and yet they want a newer one! I got a PSP original, I didn't go out rushing to shops to buy the 2000 model or the 3000 model! XD

Agreed. You can blame the parents for that, as long as they keep giving to the kids whatever they want they'll want more and more. I always had only about 1/2 games per year because of how much expensive they were, and didn't want to "extort" my parents. Luckily now I have my own money and can buy whatever I want with it :D

I wouldn't mind buying one to get to try all the new features and games designed around them. Just won't get it right now as the price is just too high to justify getting until new games based around it come out. :)

Not sure but maybe a lot of those were bought by new gamers that were attracted to games like Brain Training.

Very nice website and really like your review for it from what I read quickly! I definetly agree that Playstation has huge following back in Portugal. I still remember back when I got a SEGA Saturn and all my friends were playing on their playstations. :p

What do you think of the software on it and do you reckon it could be used properly to make new types of games? Have you tried the Super Mario music when you records a sound? :D

Thanks! Yeah, I played around with the DSi Photo and Sound and I think specially the camera will give developers a new tool to take their creativity beyond not only in games but as in applications. A Skype like app for the DSi would be a killer.

The DSi Sound allows you to include sound bits in the recordings or even music from the SD Card. The library includes a good number of sound bits, but the funnier are definitely the ones from old school Super Mario games :D

Pretty much, the stores are full of PlayStations and just a few xboxes. Don't ask me why, maybe a distributor things

I think people should give the DSi a chance, despite losing the GBA slot it's a great handheld.

Yes, it's not a significant update from the Lite, but the small changes make a huge difference.

I think later on we will see more DSi features implimented into upcoming DS games, and with the DSi shop there's a lot of potential for the future.

Right well first thing!

As I'm sure a lot of you know there was the R4 allowing you to download games for free for your DS! Now with the DSi theres a SD Card slot, now have Nintendo just made it easier to get free gaming for the console or have they put on some type of protection!???

I love the photo editing though and the Points function allowing you to download stuff like the wii can!

I think most of those cards have been disabled by a software modification in the system. It also now has updates like the Wii so they can modify the software at any point to stop anything new.

Not sure but there's a few that still work though as I seen some people comment that it worked. Then again programmers behind them are very quick at always finding a way.

From what i understand is if you wish to use the DSi store you will need to keep the DSi firmware upto date.

Piracey is always a problem and i think this is one way of keeping it a bay.
Sadly you never going to stop it 100%.

The main reasion I won't choose a DSi is i have loads of GBA games i still play and i don't see the point in having both DSi and DS light.

When the DSi was first released, there were loads of deals where you could swap your DS Lite in and buy the DSi for just £70. Don't you have one of the older handhelds, like the GBA or SP? Stashed away in the attic or something?
Not that there is much point in getting the DSi, unless you're a fanboy or have lots of monies :D

I would of considered buying a DSi but from what i understand they are region locked now, which means i can't import DSi games from Asia, and North America when they come out sooner.

This to me is a big NO NO, and a mistake on Nintendo's part, as this will surely put people off the idea of buying one, or will make them consider buying a DSi flash card to play import games on, meaning loss of potential sales for them.
