It looks like MvC3 really is done and finished so it's time to look into future and MvC4 that hopefully doesn't take 8+ years to come out.
Even with all (my) dissapointment MvC3 is still a nice base to build on graphics, controls and rosterwise. I'd just like more meat around the bare bones, and if we assume MvC3 characters can't be migrated into MvC4 or can't fit on disc then I hope much of the roster is changed to get fresh faces.
So here's my little rundown:
+ More quickselect teams (5 sounds much better than 3)
+ Local records for arcade mode
+ Story intro(s), 1-3 interludes, better endings
+ More and better unlocks (characters, outfits, screen filters, game changing cheats and modes like slow-mo, solo match, infinite hyper etc). Art and voices don't last long.
I would like if only 3-6 characters from each side were unlocked from start and you'd get rest by getting enough PP, completing arcade mode with certain characters, beating S-ranks in Time attack and Survival etc. All characters shouldn't be unlocked after 2 hours of gametime, some should take atleast a dozen (DLC excluded)
+ 4 Player local multiplayer
+ I think most agree Galactus was very cheap and not that fun boss. So this time I'd have 2 suggestions in mind:
1. A fair yet epic match up against the likes of Apocalypse/Thanos/Mephisto or Sigma/Nemesis/Myria who are joining to take over the world,
2. Facing all 7 identities of Harman Smith (Killer7) who is assassinating every character from both universes.
Modes (Off/online if possible)
-Arcade (I'd say possible online too. Players are ranked to level 1-7)
-VS (Any combination of players and CPU: players vs players, players vs cpu, 1-2players+2-1cpu vs 1-2players+2-1cpu)
-Survival
-Time Attack
-Team Battle (Possible to play 1-on-1 matches)
-Career (Think something like NHL/NFL/FIFA/WWE Franchise mode)
-Tournament/League (Knockout/Point scoreboards, lots of settings like number of participants and number of matches)
-Beat Em Up (Think Final Fight, the mode in Tekken or any sidescroller beat em up game)
-Training
-Show (Endless CPU vs CPU fight)
-Theather (Watch saved replays and screenshots)
-Event (More like in Super Smash Bros/Mortal Kombat. Smart and unique "mini"games and challenges instead of what MvC3 had)
