View Full Version : Online players are a joke... Seriously.
I've played a fair few games online now and won say about five out of 20, seriously, that sounds rubbish but when you're up against people who use the same move, or people who back off, or people who are just plain annoying, it's hardly surprising. Sort it out CAPCOM.

Backing off is a defensive strategy. How can you complain about that?
How can Capcom do something about the way people play?

I've also played against some players who simply spammed Hadokens - or in the case of Ken Shoryukens - and who waited in the corner until the time ran out. At first I was really frustrated but now I love these kind of players because they are easy Battle Points if you ask me ;)! In most cases they are really terrible players who can't really fight but simply do Hadokens or Shoryukens. Just practice how to counter these attacks and you will win against such "great" fighters with ease ;)! Trust me! After some practice my rank went up from 99.xxx to 34.xxx in just 4 days :D!
BTW: I love those players who also use a headset and who start swearing after you break through their Hadokens or Shoryukens and get their asses kicked! It's hilarious :D!

I use Ryu, Akuma and Ken mostly and have to say that spamming fireballs and dragon punches is perhaps the worst way to try and beat someone, unless they are very poor. These moves against a good player with equate to a fast death. If you have a problem fighting against these characters it is ultimately because you need to brush up on your defensive skills, after all all of these moves can be blocked (unlike some other characters)
In my opinion the real spammers are those that use Balrog, Chun-Li, Zangief etc who have found ways where certain moves are unblockable, armour breaking or used as a cross up. It is often these players who once figured out get abusive and claim Ken is cheap blah blah blah:rolleyes:.
If some players took the time to learn their characters total repetoire of moves you will be widely more able to take each match with confidence instead of spamming a lariat, finding the opponent knows how to get round it, the been left lacking because you have no other strategy.
yes it's annoying as hell to block a storm of fireballs. about a backing up defense i will not agree. Some characters have charging specials so backing and blocking must be a part of offense. I will agree with KK-SkinTicket that some chars have annoying attacks like Zagnieff with his spin attack, which is ultra annoying when your opponent only relies on one attack (one button).
One tip : super and ultras are immune to fireballs. if your opponent just spawning an fireball and you can perform ultra or super on him, go for it. Fireball will just pass you, and your opponent will get a nice slap.
PS. KK-SkinTicket :) Ken can be beaten with every character if the skill is right. (i choose Chun-Li). Wanna try ? may gamertag is same as nick : Braqoon.

You are on Bragoon although please don't use that cross up attack of Chun-Li's otherwise I may eat my controller in frustration
I think the bottom line is that anyone who spams the same move over and over will, as soon as they play someone good, get their butt kicked. Yesterday I came across a range of one hit wonders from shoryukens, lariats, electricity attacks, that Gouken rush punch thing and the Akuma air fireballs- with a little patience and mixing it up a bit (mainly through focus, dashes and ultras) I beat most of them hands down. The only characters I am really weary of are Sagat and Balrog because in the hands of even an average player they can really do some damage.
Just to note I don't think I am a master by any stretch on SFIV but I have changed and varied tactics a lot and you get far more enjoyment in doing so.
