Can we have a patch for these stupid trials. These combos are not only utterly usless they are way too difficult to do on the 360 controller. Did no one playtesting this game notice this? It's ridiculous.

What sort of patch would you get exactly? To change the way the D-pad on the 360 is designed? The 360 is known to have a crappy d-pad. If you really want to learn to do the trials I'd suggest a new pad or stick, or just forgetting about it all together.

capcom should have done what guitar hero does - release a concurrent peripheral. In the UK there are 0 opportunities to buy a stick (except for extortionate prices i draw the line at in the secondary market). They aren't on sale here. I shouldn't have to forget about a portion of the game i paid for. All of it should be playable on the default controller. However thanks to the crazy inputs/shortcuts that litter the game (and the trial mode - even though you aren't told them) it's extremely difficult to pull of these combos. Too many of the trials are really badly explained and rely on shortcuts and weird inputs that the player, unless he already knows them, will never know. This stuff isn't intuititve at all - how is a player meant to know that doing gougken's rh into his super requires you input qcf RH then qcf P? You cannot do it the way it's implied: RH then qcf qcf P.

Well they didn't release a peripheral other than the rare Madcatz pads so what are you gonna do? That's basically what it's down to. They aren't going to make a patch to change the inputs (How much work would that take for a game that's already out? Rhetoical) nor are they likely to make a new controller for it, so your options are limited. It isn't just this game that suffers with the D-pad though, any fighter does. DOA4 works horrendously with the d-pad and wait for Tekken 6.

Well about a controller, true x360 gampad will make you finger hurts possibly ps3 one too. i heard lot's of weird things about those madcatz arcade sticks (many off them faulty) and on EX2 you don't really want to play SF4 where you missing 2 buttons.

All in all i made one myself:

I know it's not the prettiest thing but it get the job done superbly. I will be doing another one "MK2" to make it look better, but overall i spend less than those Madcatz ones by a mile.

Again you may think i'm a bit geekty to made myself cotroller but it make you to apprecieate more what you playing on.

and finally :P i can make you one if you want.

Thanks.

On this one Joystick is Happ and buttons are X-Arcade (apart from Happ player button).
New one will got same apart from Joystick which will be X-Arcade as buttons. I read the Happ and X-arcade joystick are similar so want to check it out as it cost cheaper.

And new one will be also in MDF but it will be much more love to overall finish.

If you ask why not Sawana or Seimitsu parts ? well this is only for me so i prefer to pay less and still got arcade feeling. I can't really compare but i can say that current parts i used are great and i don't see reason why i should buy pushbuttons for more money if X-Arcade are good enough for me (hard to say on life of microswitches yet). Joystick are field for discussions but again, this Happ Ulitmate is great for me, hopefully this X-Arcade will be no different.

I just have a problem with cancels. Now a stick would be great if you can get hold of one, there are many conflicting reviews on the MadCatz and Hori sticks, so even if I could get one and pay a stupid price for it I'm not sure its a viable option. Saying the XBox pad is poor is not sufficent though, programming codes can be modified to aid/work with a certain periphials. Furthermore Capcom surely realised the game would sell millions/very well and therefore had a responsibility to ensure that all gamers could reasonably play through the majority of the game, this has little to do with skill or practice, the combinations are simply too difficult to pull of on the Hard Trials with cancels in them.

Someone release some decent sticks at a reasonable price before I eat my 360 pad
