By now you’ve had about three days to get into Marvel Vs Capcom 3 but even if you’ve been playing it all day and all night there might be some things you didn’t know or figure out about each character.

Thankfully the amazing fighting game website Shoryuken (http://wiki.shoryuken.com/Marvel_vs_Capcom_3) has begun a wiki on MC3. It includes video breakdowns of each character as well as their moves list and some very useful tips. Of course it will fill up soon with combos and more tips (though you can go on the forum (http://shoryuken.com/f340/) for more regularly updated advice) but this is a brilliant way to learn how to play and destroy opponent in one amazing combo.

Check out the blog for links and a vid: http://www.capcom-europe.com/blog/2011/02/mvc3-need-help/

Can we have this floated? If this board is to become Capcom's hub for MVC3 discussion, new players and even new members will find this useful. Let's float topics that are of the most helpful kind, especially for a game such as this where learning is a big part of enjoying it.

At least I now know how to do Acid Rain. I don't think it's in Dante's command list, so that's helpful. ;)

Guess I should go through with some more of my other characters to see what new tricks I can learn.

Practice this to get past spammers:

It's in there, second one down :P Many of Dante's moves can be cancelled into others by repeating the action a second time immediately (I love the Beehive combo although can rarely pull it off in an actual fight!)

Ah right, I thought it was the only one not on there, haha. Ah well, yea I find pulling off the fire pillar into the bigger fire pillar the hardest to do.

I think it's shoryuken hard into shoryuken hard again, and then it happens.

As for cancelling, that's exactly how I roll. :p

If I catch someone with jetstream, I put it straight into fireworks, then put that straight into million stab, then put that into crystal, and if I get Crystal to hit with the right time, I put it straight back into jet stream and repeat the process. I managed to do that twice in a row once, and it did a lot of damage.

Its a shame we're on different consoles or I would enjoy practising with you! Been playing ranked matches with spammer after spammer the last hour or so >.>

When I'm really getting trashed, I just switch to Taskmaster and taunt a lot

"Don't you know any other moves?!"

Haha, then you're killed even faster for saying that. :p

I'm building up a habit of taunting when the other player doesn't do anything, and also when I beat the opposition.

I walk over their body and hit the taunt button at the end of the fight. :p

Anyway yea, it is a shame because we'd probably get some good games in. I'd say Carb is my MVC3 partner as we both like being diverse and hate spammers. Sheerly for the fact of how stupid spamming is.

True, but if I know I'm probably going to lose anyway I'd rather try and dent their ego a little ;)

I just don't understand the mind behind the people who do it. While I understand it's nice to win, playing that way is just boring and unsatisfying. I just can't believe that the ratio of people who care more about winning than having fun is so high.

Other than that, I just find myself being matched with people waaaay higher levels than me, who just kick my ass legitimately :p

Haha, I love the thrill of when you're losing, all of a sudden from out of nowhere you pull it back and smack the living hell out of them.

I've done that to a few people, and one guy beat me online in a ranked match, so I went into the ranked match game again, and it put me against him one more time and because I worked out within that one match how he fights, I just went to town on him.

He almost got me, but I caught him off guard. :D

Always nice to perform a comeback win but for me, I love consolation matches where you still lose but you take them by surprise when: they have three characters, you have one left, and you end up miraculously pulling off some epic combos and taking out two of them at once (when two appear due to an assist). Always puts a smile on my face.

Like yesterday when I had three characters left with low life and you had your Akuma. I called in Wolverine with Dante, and you killed them both, the hurricane kicked me, then pulled off Akuma's Hadoken super twice in a row.....my tiny bit of life couldn't hold out. :p

The hurricane kick cancelled my block out too.

I've had a few games where I got through all three characters with one character left. That's awesome! :D
