View Full Version : Marvel Vs Capcom 3 press reviews...
Here's the first official online review I've seen so far...
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-02-14-marvel-vs-capcom-3-review
...the review seemed pretty good and they awarded it an 8 out of 10.
I've also read online that gamesmaster magazine have awarded the game 90%...so far so good. :)
IGN will be posting theres in a few hours too. :D

Sounding pretty good. Only line that I was a little disheartened by was this one:
For a game conceived in the bed of fan service, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 arguably does too little for fans of its various mythologies outside of the characters themselves. There are precious few unlockables here.
Still, I'm glad to hear that the game is doing well.
The Destructoid review will be up later on today.
Team xbox gave it a rave review awarding it 9.2... http://reviews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1902/Marvel-vs-Capcom-3/p1/ :D

Looks like Hsien-Ko and Sentinel are unlocked in the same way as Akuma and Taskmaster then (as the Xbox review mentioned the 4 characters you can unlock and showed the roster without them).
Don't know if we knew that already or not, but I didnt realise.
Great reviews so far :)

Another review, this time from TBreak - gives an 8.5 score :)

and an 8.8 from NowGamer http://www.nowgamer.com/reviews/ps3/9662/marvel-vs-capcom-3-fate-of-two-worlds
Have a feeling that IGN will give it 9.3 :O haha

IGN 8.5.... i was expecting 9.0 or 9.3 :(
Presentation
The game struggles the most here, lacking the extra polish outside of the core gameplay. True alternate costumes, more characters, more variety and depth for modes needed.

Is it only me that pretty much only plays Arcade and Versus with fighters? I love the idea of Mission Mode for practice (which SSFIV also had), but I really can't see what the big deal is about the lack of survival mode.
While I'd definitely not complain about having an extra mode or two, I wouldn't say that MvC sounds like it lacks modes - as long as it's possible to change the difficulty to make the game even harder, I'll be happy.
I do wonder if Capcom will release any game modes as add-ons, though.

Fairly positive reviews from everyone so far, im happy to see the game being so widely appreciated as the press normally are not too kind. I wish it was Friday...i can feel a sickie coming on....
The game is really promising according to reviews...
By the way guys, I don't know if this has been mentioned here before but I heard someone ripped the game and discovered Frank West and Elektra are in...
I guess rather then posting them all each time the best place to check is metacritic as it compiles an overall score from everyone... http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/marvel-vs-capcom-3-fate-of-two-worlds ...and MvC3 is currently getting a very respectable score of 86 out of 100.
I'm getting hyped now! :D
8.5 from Destructoid

I think the reviewer was pretty fair despite having a hang up on characters cut from the roster.

Hmm sounds a bit flakey, might be unused data for unfinished characters or something. I won't hold my breath, but it would be cool if there were a couple we didn't already know about.

I'm at work too - I think it'd be easier at home because at least I could keep my mind occupied! Here its just monotony and the excitement for MvC3 keeping me going haha.

Just incase anyones interested, Giantbomb did a quick look of the game, they seem to be enjoying themselves too. Ill say right now though, they do fight the boss of the game at one point so if your staying clear of spoilers you may want to avoid this
