The same sticks both 149.99 but one is dollars and the other is pounds. They also refuse to ship to the uk from the US store. Pretty annouyed that we're paying more or less an extra £50 for something for no reason

Edit: After doing the math it's an extra £57 we pay for the stick for no good reason

That's not scamming.

They can price their product however they like for each territory and they usually price by how much people are willing to pay rather than how much they think it is worth.

Is it fair? not really, it's just good business.

yeah that is rubbish, they should at least convert it into ££ so itll be like £70, the cheek of it astounds me, u probably have to pay p&p on top of that

That is the exact same thing play.com does on their site. The prices in euros do not reflect pounds. For example i once checked the price of the MadCatz fightstick for the PS3 (not the T.E. ones) and while it was around 20 something pounds it went up to 80+ in euros. And with play its not just their MadCatz products, everything has a different price in pounds than in euros. I guess they do it so that they can always make sure they don't lose money whenever the currency changes. The only positive in play.com's policy is that shipping fees are always included in the asking price. They claim shipping is free but that is BS when it comes to outside of Europe, they just add the fee on the asking price instead of adding it later on when you checkout

There are a couple of factors that might contribute. These are guesses though, and I'm neither speaking for them or saying I agree with what they're doing.

The exchange rate is at an all-time low, in our favour. That must have implications for their business, but I couldn't tell you what they are, or if they're in their favour or not.

Shipping an item that heavy from the States to the UK has costs me as much as £30 in the past. Thanks, Hori Real Arcade Pro!

I also recommend you look for local retailers selling them. Or maybe consider spending a bit more and getting a custom stick. This guy makes some beautiful sticks and best of all, they work on PS3 AND 360 - http://www.b15sdmdesigns.com/

Now that is a damn good site and i'll certainly consider getting a multi platform stick. Thinking about getting one with ryu and wolverine artwork
