View Full Version : Censored Decapitations in Resi 5
Did this strike anyone else as bizarre since Resi 5 is certificated 18 (adult) whilst decapitations in Resi 4 were uncensored (for the player at least, you can still blow enemies heads off with your guns or, if they're damaged enough, punch their heads off). I just think this is weird.
yea, i think everyone i know when they saw that scene go "err... isnt this an 18?"
the only thing i can think to justify it is that its trying to look from shevas point of view cause she looks away
But it got certification for distribution in Germany... ;)
Don't much care, it smacks of censorship whatever way you slice it (No pun intended.) especially in consideration of the fact that Decapitation was one of the marketing sells for RE4, with one of the first promotional stills being Leon being killed by a Chainsaw Gando.
I found it to be quite realistic, a chainsaw does not cleanly slice, it chews, so chewing through bone and muscle would stop it from going through completely.

The point is you clearly see it going through ^^'
The camera just tries to look away.
To be honest this disappointed me a bit, but it wasn't big enough for me remember it long enough to voice a complaint XD
right now I'm starting to hate Germany though ;_; (not really but you get my point)

i noticed it since the demo...i was quite disappointed....in RE4 i remained shocked for some second after seeing that scene: it was so splatter, violent and....whoa, very impressive
by the way this is not too much to worry about, but it would be an appreciated feature for me

I don't want to be pedantic, but chainsaws can cut down quiet large trees, definetly bigger and harder than soft flesh and a rather small (talking of the neck section of the spine) bone...
Chainsaw's have no problem with meat or bone; the ancient osteotome was first created for that purpose, and was probably one of the first chainsaws invented I believe.

I dont think it has somethin to do with any countries censorship. Capcom may have thought its not nessecary to get a close look at the beheading, imo its nothin i miss, but i wouldnt care if its there, so in either way idc lol. And ye, hate germany lol, i am german and i have to import 60% of 18 rated games -_-, so annoying.
