View Full Version : New Lost Planet 2 information
The Official Xbox Magazine on shelves in April is carrying a load of new information on LP2.
They got to fly out to Japan, talk with the producers and even play the game. I'm just jealous that Electric_Leo got to go with them and i didn't
I am going to have to pick this up.
Thanks for the heads up.

From what I hear, there's not HEAPS of new information.
Some of the tidbits were that the game didn't have characters, almost everyone was customisable (good or bad? Lost Planet never had a great story so I suppose it's not that bad a thing).
Oh, and there will be melee attacks similar to the "Gears Chainsaw", which could be interesting. =P

That IS a bad thing. IMO if a game has no story then what's the point in playing it?
That was the biggest thing I was looking forward too in the sequel. :yell::mad:
Story is bound on the tribes, without any main character. I do really like the new way that Lost Planet 2 is going. The gameplay becomes a mix out of MH and RE 5.
But at the moment, I'm hoping Capcom doesn't make the same mistake again, like on Lost Planet 1 by bringing out the PS3 version many month later than the 360. Hopefully it isn't again a bad 360 portation.
I agree Lost Planet was proberbly one of the worst 360 to ps3 ports out their even with the little extra's you got.
Hope fully LP2 will be multiplatform from day one unless Microsoft have paid for it.

MH... Monster Hunter!! Im getting Lost planet 2 then :D
never got the first, there was stupid thing about collecting thermal energy which i didnt like, is that still in it?
at least on the annoucement trailer the pirates seem to still have thos TE backpacks, but if you really want it i guess you can just get a cheat from the net that grants you infinite TE
I read the feature in OXM and it instantly switched to a must buy for me.
-4 player co-op!
-Gears of War controls
-badass vital suit customization
-cool energy weapons with bayonet attachments for melee
-screen filling bosses, featuring one where you can get eaten buy it, shoot inside it and "exit" ;) from it's behind lol.
If they have a deathmatch and team deathmatch on release it would be cool, actually it would be cooler than cool, so it would be ice cold or wicked sick.

Collecting thermal energy is still in Lost Planet 2.

Sounds amazing, DtK. Although, I'm starting to question Capcom's desire to develop original titles, rather than poncing off Gears of War yet again (Resident Evil 5 was partly inspired by Gears according Takeuchi-san).
However, because I love Gears of War, I'll turn another blind eye to it. Lost Planet 2 looks and sounds great, and the Gears controls suit a game like this.
Even if they ripped the controls from Gears of War I wouldn't blame them.
The controls are a big deal and it probably makes it a lot easier for them to use a pre-existing control scheme that works and people are familiar with, than winging it and getting it horribly wrong.
As a game though it looks different and unique enough to distinguish itself even if it does have Gears of War influences.
