So what features do we actually know will be an improvement over MotoGP 09/10?
Bike physics
Engine sounds
Fully mappable controls
Hands on handlebars
and that's about it as far as I'm aware!
I will be gutted if they haven't given us
Online stability
More post race info
Bike customization online, with an advance notice of what track is next
A slight advantage for anyone using a career bike or manual gears
The ability to turn off peoples gamer tags

It's a sorry state of affairs when you have to respond to your own thread.....
but what about some new screen shots or game footage?
I realize its a bit of a long shot now half of Monumental have been fired but oh well :chin:someone 'official' might respond

Haha - yeah its crazy that they don't even respond on their own boards, you'd think they'd want to build up some kind of community or following!
Surely it must be time to start ramping up the promotion of MotoGP 10/11 with the release of snippets of information/screen shots/videos etc and generate a bit of interest and buzz - but all we ever get is silence!
I'm really beginning to think that Capcom getting the MotoGP license for 5 long years was the worst thing that ever happened to the franchise, they only seem interested in chasing the quick buck!
......anyways - rant over

I think we all agree, that since the beginning things has gone a bit stray.Monumental startet out with the best of intentions, and now we have ended up in a communications breakdown, where noone is even talking to oneanother.Anyway im sure you all heard of the events taking place at the studio, and Monumental loosing "a big project"wich is looking more, and more as if might be MoToGP,and several key-members of the team going else where,so maybe once they have had the time to regroup, and Tom comes back to the studio, they will come out and give us the low-down on the currant situation, and tell us a bit about what to expect from them in the futere, and after 10/11:chin:
While I agree that the lack of any interaction between customers and the developer/publisher is somewhat baffling, it is understandable too.
As StillNotHappy! mentioned Monumental layed off a tonne of staff (http://www.develop-online.net/news/36553/Monumental-restructures-but-no-redundancies) in a restructure, including Monumental's MotoGP community representative Steve Best. Sadly, he posted the news on the XBL Addicts forums which has become the default forum for all MotoGP gaming news.
It would be nice if someone from Monumental visited the official forum with the intent of letting we who supported their first game know more about MotoGP '10/'11.
Cheers.

Unlike most people, I actually enjoyed the first game to an extent - but Monumental really only have themselves to blame if they have lost the contract, I have no sympathy for them.
They made a good start by asking the community what we wanted for MotoGP 09/10 - they got a ton of feedback from everyone - and then completely ignored the most fundamental points and went and did their own thing anyway. And look where that got them!
Now in their defense they did begin to listen to the community and improved the handling with each new DLC, but along with that also came extra bugs.
And after reading some of Gregs responses to questions about 10/11 it seems they have once again failed to address the most fundamental of issues - (so you can now load a setup in the lobby - when you wont even know what track your going to - I mean what genius came up with that solution?)
Sorry I think I must of got out of the wrong side of bed this morning

The only point I'll add is while Monumental polled the MotoGp fanbase and was supplied with a tonne of feedback, we don't know if they chose to ignore the responses or if Capcom demanded an arcade game thinking that would appeal to a broader market. I feel sometimes the developer are unjustly crucified for decisions that may not be entirely of their making.
Irrespective, the move backfired & I'd hate to see Monumental fold as they got some aspects of their game right: the graphics engine for MotoGP (colour pallet aside) is light years ahead of the stuck in early 2000 effort of Milestone's SBK series.
All we can do is hope that the mistakes in '09/'10 have been corrected in '10/'11.
Cheers.

That's a good point TJ, I suppose we'll never really know how much influence Capcom squeezed from Monumental. I guess we'll soon find out.
And your right - minus the weird colour effects, the graphics of 09/10 really is head and shoulders above its nearest rival and far better than anything we have seen thus far.

I really hope you've done this right Monumental and for every assist you turn off you gain a slight advantage?

I really hope you've done this right Monumental and for every assist you turn off you gain a slight advantage? It's rather sad and pathetic that we fans have to visit an external forum (of which I am a member of too) to get screens and some hands-on feedback from Ryan AKA Revolution#72 who was assisting Monumental with the handling model. I've tweeted both @MonumentalGames and @MotoGPDev asking for some further info and for them to actually market their game and so far nothing. Last post from both accounts was November 10th and it took me to request tweets from Steve Best via the XBL Addicts forums for tweets to appear about the DLC packs!
The problem as I see it is when a developer and/or publisher is very quiet about an upcoming release, it looks from an outsiders POV the game is likely to be shite. Why else would you be quiet about a game you're proud of? Why wouldn't a developer want to show to the world the improvements they've made to their game?
If I were Monumental, I'd be promoting the game as much as possible and getting someone on this official forum to field some questions. Without Steve Best, the lack of interaction is very noticable.
BTW - the screens look good, but then the graphics were never an issue with MotoGP 09/10, colour palette aside.
Cheers.
