Megatron

Just wanted to start a thread here to see how many of my former comrades there are left in the community. It was a very close knit, dedicated community we had in OB2, and the news that the server was going to be discontinued came as something of a shock. I met alot of good players, and a few friends that unfortunately I fell out of cantact with thanks to this lack of a polarising factor in this game.
So yeah, I was (Suprise Suprise) Megatron, also known as Muramasa Edge in the game, I still have my old OB2 savefile and was never anything special at the game on reflection. My favourite map was End of the Road, which was a map I actually first played with a player called Ekolocke where we two manned it on normal mode, (Pretty tough, couldn't carry many guns, though he was Yoko the first time which made things a shade easier.) and then worked our way up the difficulties.
My best memory in the game was playing an Ultra Hard Flashback with WhiteRose, DJKevin and Masterjim (I still remember the broom of doom. Wasn't Jim our Deathmatch champion? :p) back when I had quite little experience playing UH games. We got beat up quite bad by the plants out on the roof ladder- we spent some time stomping the **** out of them but they just wouldn't die- I got dangered because one of my shoulder charges as George missed its mark and I wound up rushing headfirst into clouds of spores. It was freaking hilarious, but luckily the way we were playing it, all we had to do was stomp the plants while someone climbed the ladder, so we eventually got the key and got out of there. Long story short, we wound up in quite a bad way thanks to not having quite the weapons we thought we did and came out of the main plant room on full danger.....if one rock landed on our heads at that point it was down on the floor time. :p Turns out, DJ still had his 45 rounds from earlier left- and proceeded to shoot the living crap out of Axeman and get that particular objective out of the way. All four of us hobbled over to the exit, and I got hit in the head with a rock just as two of us got out- Jim was right behind me, saved my ass and got me out the door. :)
Still to my mind the best on-line game I've ever played. Left 4 Dead comes close, but it doesn't have that tension and suspense of the quiet periods that OB2 had.
So yeah, are there any more of us left on the forum? :spy:
