Thought this was pretty cool, a photographer in Africa has caught a pink elephant on camera. No mention of bio-weapons.

its not that pink... and considering pink is rather common in baby mammals its not that amazing

edit: the report said its albino, but arnt rhino albinos white? since the two have similair skin it seems strange that one would be white and the other pink

Ya, which is why it's so rare.

Hey it's just light news.

the report was quite strange in the way the ppl photographing it said that it faces serious problems being an albino in one of the sunniest countries in the world yet they are still willing to just let it carry on (although the guy removed himself from blame claiming the elephant to be a genuis cause it went into its mothers shade ¬_¬)

certainly begs the question at what point does letting mother nature take its course become neglecting wildlife

Hmm good point, though I'm not sure if they really could do anything for it, as far as taking it in away from the herd (?).

they could have placed umbrellas to keep it cool and thrown suntan lotion at it! but yea i suppose there not much they could do but it reminds me of this time i watched a bbc documentry called big cat dairy

at the end of one episode a cub that strayed from its parent was being chased by ravanous baboons trying to eat it, the episode ended with an uncertain outcome

next episode, no footage (even though we know they were filming it as there was footage of the chase) just a casual "lucky this cub managed to avoid the baboons"

me thinks that the cameras were put away and the shotguns taken out! take that baboon, that will learn ya for tying to ruin a bbc documentry!

They caught that elephant by only using a camera? Amazing!

...Yeah, I'm guessing that joke's pretty old to you British folk. But as a Dutchman, I feel witty. ):
