View Full Version : Street Fighter 4: Character Theme Songs (in vs mode)
Am i the only one who is vastly enjoying the game but find it so frustrating that all of our favourite iconic character theme tunes are in the game but not selectable during VS modes?? I crave to be able to use them during VS bouts why can't we have that option?
I'd even pay for unlocking the option via the downloadable content route.
Why not use a similar system to super smash bros brawl with "percentage chance" based song select per stage or just a song select option before each battle...
Fight with Sagat against Ryu at the 'Fight your rival' stage of arcade to hear some classic SF music!
It would take some of the "uniqueness" of the rival battles away, if you could have Guile's remix on all the time at the airport stage, for example, no?
But if you really feel like listening to everybody's song, play Time trial stage 11 (I think), which has you facing the classic street fighter cast, with their respective remixes.
You can just pause the game at that time to continue listening to the music.
OR, a more tenious way, would be to create an online lobby, with private slots set to "on" so noone is able to join. The lobby's have the tendency to play the more awesome songs (Zangiefs Remix, El fuerte's theme, Ryu's remix, etc...) most of the time.
music is one thing but i really believe that the ultra charges too quickly, you lose apprecition for it because u get it every single round, being a revenge move it would have been more exiting to have it only by the second round, to increase the suspence of the impact.
i agree, i love the rival scenes, adds real charector and personality to the game, sf4 is a game i love more than the previous ones, but why did they put an annoying narrator over the game with no option to turn him off in audio options. Last thing i like the downloadable outfits, but damn out of order charging nearly half the price of the game for them in total.

If it interests you, one of the survival levels is set up just like Street Fighter II, with each character having their own themes playing during battles. It was a nice touch.

Yeah i noticed that time attack too, it was cool. I just feel that having the option to listen to those classic songs while fighting in vs would help make the game experience even more (classic street fighter). The first time i started SF2HD remix i was blown away by the music. I think there are some good songs in SF 4 but there are some i can't stand and due to that i avoid certain stages such as the African airfield and Seth's stage. To be able to fight to the classic remixes would be really cool in my mind. It just seems a shame they spent all that time creating them and we only really hear them on rival stages and a couple of time trial stages..
I agree when they do use the classics for rival stages it has impact but after completing the game many times i started to think that it is a missed opportunaty not having them selectable in VS.
