whats the best resident evil game ever from zero to 5
Best for me was the orignal all those years ago. Where Hunters took your head off on low health, it had more traps and puzzles than anything recently and was the start to a good series of games(actually my 2nd favourite series of games 1st being the FinalFantasy Series..), after the orignal I would say nemesis was 2nd best.

I tried to buy Resident Evil for the PSX and the shop assistant told me that it had been recalled because parents had complained that it was too scary.
The game was slow, but hey, it was the first and it had no auto-aim either.

Yeah I bought a PS1 for RE and a Gamecube for REmake and RE0 and truth be told a PS2 for Outbreak and actually RE5 was a factor in deciding to get a 360 instead of a Wii. I hadn't realised until now how big a factor Resi has been

ah favorite re game would have to be re directors cut.that game was the start of a whole new generation where i lived.that got loads of people i know into gaming including myself.of course we all played games before that but none that had us talking about them like that one did.
second fav would have to be re3.dam that nemisis just wouldnt give up.scared the crap out of me numerous times.then it would be re5 then 4.i love the way the games headed.non stop action,great looking enemies,some big badass bosses and loads of guns.dam the replay value re5 has its amazing.ive finished it 10 times already and im still wanting more

RE Gun Survivor was the most innovative game of our time; it re-defined the Resi genre as well as having the greatest graphics, gameplay and story of any Resi game to this day. Many games have tried to mimic its brilliance...many have failed.

Resident Evil 3 was my favorite, it was such a step forward with a boss that would chase you room to room, and it was quite actiony and styled, also their was a reason for the city being blown up with an end timer/countdown.
Now i would say that they have done resident evil 5 just right and cracked it, i really enjoy this game, though i do wish there was a few more puzzles.

Resident Evil 2 was my favourite. It was the first game I properly completed (I was young, I couldn't complete games without cheats ^^).
It was, in my opinion, less scary and easier than the first one and I just really enjoyed everything about the game.
I've said it many times before, but now I have resi 5 to consider too.
My favourite is still Code Veronica. You just can't beat the characters in the game. Chris, Claire, Wesker, the Ashfords...and even Steve (which gives the game a bit of satisfaction towards the end). The difficulty was also great. Even harder than Remake, which is the 2nd hardest to date, I'd say. No Resi 4 level of easiness here!:D

Outbreaks, no contest. Someone once accurately described them as "The best of..." edition of Resident Evil, and I agree wholeheartedly.
I haven't played it that much, only a few times, I recently re-bought it, so maybe a few runs will change my mind, but I preferred the ones I play on a regular basis.
While I still have that very strong and proud emotional attachment to Resident Evil Outbreak 2, and that pride in having been a part of that community; I think pound for pound the best of the RE games was the REmake on the Gamecube that matured the series so well.
It's a real example of what can be done with remakes if the source material is not only given enough respect, but given the chance to mature and even be expanded on that I really think no other remake has really truly managed to do.
Not only did it take the original elements that made Resi such an instant classic, but it then further expanded on it with new elements that celebrated what made Resident Evil; Resident Evil- dark, atmospheric areas, tense surrounds, jump out moments, the fear of what went on before you got there, using the enemies themselves as a fear device, rather than simply as an obstacle to your objective.
Perhaps the fact that it was fairly freeform in how you tackles the puzzles as well gave it that feel that maybe RE4 and 5 lack- in those games you have your objectives, and your linear paths to get there- in REmake you found doors, then could proceed in whatever direction you wanted in the search for a way to unlock them.
I think my favourite thing about RE1 was the expanded storyline, that not only respected the original intentions for the original game but kept the game fresh and new, rather than stale and identical to the past iterations. New item placements, Lisa Trevor, new puzzles.....all adding a degree of discovery to the game.
What can I say, it's as close to perfect as a Resident Evil game ever got- no Resi game either before that, or since then has done the Survival Horror genre as much justice in my eyes as REmake.
I guess RE1 is still the best (ex aequo with CODE: VERONICA - so far the most disturbing of the entire series - and the only one with a goddamn dinamic camera!).
RE2 comes immediatly after, followed by RE3.
RE0 imho is the weakest: weak story (how many mansions with labs does Umbrella have in Raccoon City????) and the mechanics seemed too old after REBirth.
Never played the two Outbreak games.
Can RE4 be considered a RE game?;) Anyways, it is at the bottom of my list. I think I am going to like RE5 a bit more: the plot seems more fleshed out and, above all, this time I know what I am buying.

Are you serious??? 4 and 5??? Are they even part of RE? lol i see them as a new Action game..
Well you got to give it to the original RE but the best RE I played was the Remake on Game Cube I had a ps2 then but when it came out and i saw the trial, I had to buy the game with the consol lol.. I wish we can see something like it again specially when you kill them and next time you go pass them xD they back up Much faster, much smarter and give you no choise but to run. RE 0 on game cube was great job aswell.
