I think the spoken language is english and the subtitles have various languages.

I thought all PAL version games can be played in 5 languages, English, German, French, Spanish and Italian. Does this mean in a form of subtitles only, but not as in spoken language?

As far I as I know which could be wrong it's only subtitles for other languages..

It's same with the Japan version i beleive.

I can't tell 100% at the moment as i am with out my ps3 at the moment as it has died on me.

Italian demo(well... japanese demo... I tried that) contain italian subtitles.

Sorry, hadn't seen this one.

RE5 is subtitled but not dubbed, you will find Italian subtitles but the voices are in English.

Capcom always dubbed its game in english, even for japanese versions...
And of course subbed in italian.
