DR2 is looking to be great but I have one question that needs answering and will decide if I buy the game or not. Is the text readable on a widescreen SDTV?

I looked through all 5 pages and only one topic mentioned it and we didn't get an answer one way or another.

Speaking about this problem in general, I don't think it's right when games are made with only HD in mind. The 360 is an SD & HD system and every game should have support for both types of TV.
In a time where we can create games that can have 1000's of characters on screen at once or create entire cities and states with thousands of people with lives and routines and other amazing things, you'd think we'd be able to fit in two text sizes into a game.
It's like the game developing equivalent of being able to climb Mount Everest but being unable to step onto a kerb. You can do the amazing but the simple is undoable, for some reason. It makes no sense.

I know a common reply is "Buy an HDTV, already!" but some people don't have the luxury of owning an HDTV just yet, especially here in Europe where electronics tend to be much more expensive than in the US.

I don't know what the text will be like on DR2 but hopefully onlyoneT or fonix will reply.

When I used a SD TV I used the Advanced Scart lead which is loads better than the ones suplied with the 360.

I had no problems using that on DR 1 with a SD TV.

I'm sure the issue has been addressed since the last game, I doubt they will make the same mistake twice.

I didn't think it was that much of a problem, it was more along the lines of getting used to it rather than a game breaking experience, I initially used an SDTV, but found things went much better when I hooked up my Xbox360 with a VGA cable to my monitor, which, in my honest opinion, is the cheapest method to get a good picture.

But I can tell you, HDTV's are a good investment, you may want to consider saving up for one, I bought one with no regrets.

Yes it'll support SD TV's with text... we've learnt from our mistakes :-)

Thanks for answering my question. I'll be pre ordering the game now. Might go for the LE if my budget permits it.

It's a pity other companies, like Bioware, haven't realised it's a mistake to do games with just tiny text.
