Hi guys, I'm speaking to you on behalf of the ECL staff team. We're running an event in Liverpool at the BT Conference Centre from the 30th July to the 1st August this summer. We're running 5 tournaments for the following games: SSF4, FIFA 2010, Halo 3, Gears of War and Call of Duty 4. We're giving out a guaranteed minimum of £25,000.

Firstly, please refer to the top right hand corner of www.ecl.eu for the ticket office. Alternatively, the ticket office can be found here - www.xseries.com

An SSF4 ticket costs £25. Prize money is guaranteed to be a minimum of £2500 for SSF4 and will increase depending on the turnout. The current prize allocation for SSF4 is as follows:

1st - £1200
2nd - £650
3rd - £300
4th - £175
5th - £100
6th - £75

(5th/6th place will play a consolation match to determine their placement)

The SSF4 tournament will run from Saturday to Sunday. Free play on the Saturday will start at 10am and the tournament will start at 2pm. You do not need to be at the event until 2 pm. The tournament hall closes by midnight on the saturday but of course we're aiming to finish saturday's SSF4 schedule well in advance of that. On Sunday the tournament will recommence at 10am and will finish at the latest of 5pm, although 5pm is a general set time for the end of the event as a whole and the SSF4 finals will be one of the first finals played of the tournaments on the mainstage, so it'll more than likely end well in advance of that.

We will be running a group followed by a double elimination tournament bracket. We will start group stages on the saturday and begin the double elimination bracket on the saturday up to a point. We will finish the remaining top 16 (or top 32 depending on the turnout) bracket on the Sunday. Select games throughout the tournament, including the finals, will receive mainstage and live stream time.

Gamestation is our headline sponsor for this event and we are also in affiliation with iiyama, rijo42 and we will be announcing further organisations shortly.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get into contact with me. You can speak to me on my msn puppeto_loco@hotmail.com or send an email to loco@ecl.eu. In addition, for your information, should you wish to contact the BT Conference Centre in Liverpool regarding the event, the event will be listed as a private event.

With £25,000 minimum in guaranteed prizes, this event is set to be something special and we plan incorporate the Street Fighter community at our future circuit of events.

Ah, sounds really good but a shame it's in Liverpool. Good luck to those heading up there!

Now, I might be reading this wrong, but over on HaloReachForum, they have announced capcom-europe and ECL partnership meaning that the Street Fighter tournament is free to enter.

Announcement can be read here: http://www.halo3forum.eu/forum/showthread.php?t=48360

The finals were just streamed online, I watched it. It was immense.

It started as a best of 5, the guy in the losers bracket knocked the guy who hadn't been in loser bracket yet. Which resetted the set, which sparked off another best of 5. The guy from Loser bracket on such a come back and made it to match point 3 times, but then the WB guy just made a comeback and won it.

It was intense.

Halo is up next, if anyone wants to watch the Halo steam check it out here: http://streamingportal.multistream.co.uk/xseries/ecl/live_webcast.htm
