I mean... seriously!
The first game never reached that console.
There are no plans for a remake/enhanced PS3 version of the first game (as it usually happens)
All the DR fans are on X360.
X360 will most likely get again the superior port.
You call this multyplatform?

I am a PS3 user and I already feel annoyed.

No not all fans are 360 fans. (ps3 fans have been calling for DR1 on ps3 for a long time, Many 360 gamers have since moved to PS3)

Most of Capcom game over the last few years have been equal on both Ps3 and 360. Resi 5, Moto GP, SFIV, SSFIV, Lost Planet 2. Even DMC 4 were very close in comparison

The only Sub standard port was Lost Planet 1 due to the early version of the MT framework.

It not always the case where a enhanced version or a normal reaches the other console and sadly this is one of those. But after the dreadful port of Lost Planet 1 i think i would not do the game justice anyway. Even though Lost Planet 1 had extra things in it the game it self was very poor compared with the 360 and I think DR1 would have gone the same way.

But as I mentioned above the rest of Capcom's Muliplatform games have been near on equal and their is nothing to say DR2 won't be.

Unlike many company's out their Capcom have taken care with their games after Lost Planet 1.

I am a multiplatform gamer and I will be having it on both consoles not to compare but to enjoy as Dead Rising 1 remains my favourite game this generation.

I understand your frustration on not having DR1 on Ps3 but same could be said for Resident Evil, and Devil May Cry on the Xbox brand.

Just enjoy the game I know I will and many Ps3 gamers will.

A few of my friends own PS3s and can't wait for Dad Rising 2. Now, it is true that they missed out on Dad Rising 1. But I know they have heard me mention it once or twice. And they were at my house the night I was going for the 7 day survivor achievement. Maybe that was enough exposure to get them interested. But for whatever reason, they are awaiting the release of DR2 for PS3.
Now from what I have seen of the PS3 version of the game, it looks and plays very well. So there is no need to worry about this being another TF2 Playstation port.

Dead Rising 2 is a stand-alone story in its own right, whilst I'm sure it has links to the original game, it can be played as such that you don't have to play the original to enjoy the sequel, thats probably where the logic for a multi-platform game comes in.

But I do see your point, Capcom have always been kinda vague and coy when it comes to the official word of a PC or even a PS3 port of Dead Rising, people thought it would go the way of Lost Planet, it still hasnt, 4 or so years on.

I also think they are assuming that most people who have a PS3, also have a Wii, since that had "Chop Til You Drop", whilst it is very inferior to the original, the story is almost identical.

Haha. I'm one of those people!

I love the game, and am still playing through the original on my brother's 360. I stole the gun off of the back of the psycho jeep, killed the drivers with it, ran to the gun store, killed the shop keeper, grabbed some guns, saved it, and am now going to go after the supermarket trolley man.....with the same massive gun (it has lots of ammo!).

Awesome game, and I can't wait to be able to play the sequel on my PS3. :D

I used to be pretty against games going multi-platform, as it resulted in the PS3 losing out on some great exclusives (Devil May Cry for me), but it means we can have the best of both worlds.

Plus, due to production values, it makes sense for a company to release their game on all major formats. It costs too much money just focusing on one console, now. :(

In fairness we've always said there were no plans for Dead Rising coming to other platforms.

You don't need to have played Dead Rising to enjoy Dead Rising 2 they are totally different games that share a couple of common themes.

I'm a PS3 owner and rather than being dissapointed that I havn't got Dead Rising or Case Zero, i'm delighted i actually get Dead Rising 2 on the console i own rather than it being 360 exclusive like the first (although i am very tempted to get a 360 to play Case Zero!)

I've not heard anything like that, all I've heard are "possibilities", some of it being official word, others being more fan based opinions. When it generally comes to threads asking if there will be a console port, it's usually discussed between members rather than any staff stepping in and saying there are no plans.

But even saying that, the Wii got a port after there where apparently "no plans", so I hope you can understand the confusion some people are getting mixed up with regarding a release of PS3 or PC port.

Yes of course. But I've been here for the past few years with quite open about DR never making an appearance on the PS3 'sorry it's not going to happen' unfortantly the joys of the internet!

For example we post a couple of times about Tapeitordie.com going live, just so happens that a producer says something on twitter about his new game and the internet goes into overdrive. Next thing we know a silly post on a forum about Case Zero is launching on the 8th is passed off as fact! Not saying it wasn't partly down to our own making but some of the vitriol we recieved was a little over the top... I guess what i'm saying is if you really want to know whats going on 100% only trust official channels.
Oh and DR2 is amazing!

What channel should I be tuned into if I wanted to know a confirmed release date for Case Zero?
...That's Right. It's me again.
