View Full Version : Resident Evil Portable (PSP) a noshow at this years E3
So when sony started to show of their psp line up a certain game was nowhere to be seen, Resident Evil portable that was announced at last years e3.
So have Capcom shifted development over to the 3ds instead of the psp ??
Because the game on the 3ds looked interesting as well, but since I am a psp owner I was just wondering why there was no new info.
As far as we know the PSP version is still in the works.
Maybe hear more at TGS in September.

No doubt we'll get answers on this soon.
A lot of people are questioning where the PSP game is, or whether it has been moved over to the 3DS, so I expect Capcom reps will be getting questioned on it regularly (either at E3, or over the coming months).
Something is bound to be said soon.
If it hasn't been moved over, I'd expect a TGS reveal/announcement.
I still suspect the PSP version might be closer to a co-op type of game, like Monster Hunter and Peace Walker, where as the 3DS version is something new.
Hopefully we'll know more soon.

Essentially an Outbreak title you mean?
That would be interesting

Yeah, pretty much. I reckon looking at how hugely successful MH is in Japan, and apply that to RE is a no brainer. -What you end up is probably something similar to Outbreak, but a little bit more fast paced, perhaps?
Essentially an Outbreak title you mean?
That is what I am hoping for.
I'm not too sure about the idea of a multiplayer-based game. Unless the game sells especially well (here's hoping), it would be difficult to find people to play with. The PSP doesn't exactly have as large an audience as the Nintendo DS, after alll.
If it were to be that sort of game, I'd hope there'd be at least a decent single player mode.

If you've not played Monster Hunter, then a quick rundown of what the games are like:
Best played in multiplayer, but perfectly capable of being played on your own. You have a massive single player campaign that takes you on a load of quests to hunt monsters and fetch items, but you also have access to the guild hall where you can go hunting with friends via the wireless connection.
If Resi were to take this style on board, then you'd be able to play a single player game as much as you'd like, but then you could also meet up with friends and complete missions with them. Which would be awesome.
It'd be like Outbreak, but a bit more refined and possibly a bit more actiony.
A PSP Outbreak remake or re-entry would be awesome for PSP.

Resident Evil Portable is still listed in the GAME new release guide saying it's coming out in September. I've forgotten the date but it's been confirmed in there for a long time now.

I wouldn't take much notice of the date they give, I remember GAME having Resident Evil 5 down for Dec 2006

The new release schedules are updated on a weekly basis however and especially since E3 GAME have been trying to be as up-to-date on release dates and new content as possible.
You should see the mass load of info sheets on the E3 announcements we have to read... lol

A fast pace action Outbreak looking Resident Evil for the PSP..............Yes Please!
I wouldnt mind what it comes out as, I`d still play it, but I remember my friend played Outbreak online with some friends but said that it lacked the multiplayer community, being on the PS2.
