Hey guys,

First of all I must ask for forgiveness for I have failed the forums in this vital mission to retrieve zombie body parts. In fact I didn't even manage to get one finger let alone a full body piece!

Anyway just thought you guys might like to know what happened at the hunt event that went on around Trafalgar Square.

So early morning around 8 I left home with a map full of circled notations of where any body parts could be. When I got off the bus at Trafalgar Square I immediatly caught sight of the main competition. Nothing less than a full team of about 8 people commanded by a S.T.A.R.S member equipped with black linen bags and everything! I decided to start looking around for where the spots could be before 9 so I had a good idea.

After 9 I started going round from spot to spot without much luck but for the odd people here and there looking through rubbish. Around 10 I concluded that everything was problably found and guessed it had to be the STARS team. I wasn't surprised to get to the finishing spot and finding out that they not only foound parts but got just about every single one of them.

The CAPCOM guys were brilliant though and resorted to handing out lots of cool stuff like bags to everyone on site. I also have to add that seeing a heap of body parts in the middle of Westminster bridge had to be the funniest sight I had ever seen! After taking down details of that STARS team someone else came along with 2 body parts and it was more or less finished.

Definetly a surreal experience and very neat idea on part of Capcom to go to such lenghts. In the end a couple of police officers came asking what was with the body parts so everyone had to bail or face going to prison.Well the last part was mostly made up but they were seriously puzzled as to what to say of such a sight! :p

Thanks a lot to the CAPCOM team and if anyone is from that team well done for finding most of those body parts in less than half a hour! I will upload some funny shots of body pats in a while.

Anyone who wants to play co op on Resident Evil 5 give me a shout. :D

I wasn't aware of it but then again I couldn't stay until 11 because of lessons.

I don't understand how that guy won over the STARS team though as they got like 8 or 9 body parts! I think heads gave the most points but that still seems weird.

I walked all over the area and still couldn't find not even 1 finger for a whole hour. A shame about it going slightly wrong but we have to give credit for the unqiue idea and effort :)

Wow, this sounded like a lot of fun. I'm glad Capcom did something like this over here :)

It would have been funny if you dressed up as Zombies instead and began searching for body parts to eat.

You might get some funny looks though :D

I arrived at the sherlock holmes (location 1) at twenty to 9 and checked the first five locations over the next ten minutes, everything was gone.
At about nine i met a couple who had two arms, they said they had been to 13 of 14 locations and everything was gone, thats 9am the supposed starting time, i checked 3 more locations and by then it was 9.20 and at that point i gave up after meeting the 3rd group of people who had told me they had been everywhere and everything was gone. Clearly the parts had been put out well before 9 and all of those who even got one who i spoke too had picked them up early. A shame really as people like myself who played by the rules didnt seem to even have a chance as we had clearly lost before we arrived ironically 1/4 of an hour before the official start time.
I didnt even get to see anybody at westminster bridge as someone who i had hooked up with insisted golden jubilee bridge was in fact westminster bridge, i know how dumb can i get for not realising? I was so tired though, only 2 1/2 hrs sleep cos i was up till 3am making a custom google map of all the locations, i even had pics of every loaction before i arrived, didnt do me any good though. By the time i realised our mistake (sitting in burger king i trumped up with, hold on doesnt westminster bridge have a road on it? silence fell upon our table as my accomplice realised his mistake) and hot tailed it to the real westminster bridge (like 100m from jubilee bridge, Doh!) everyone had clearly packed up and gone home, in total there were 5 of us there at 11.15 with glum looks on our faces, none of us had anything to show for our hunt though and we all got there just before 9am. Its a shame really as there were lots of people waiting at faux blood splattered locations at 9 unsure whether the parts had been nabbed or had not been put out yet. Many were insistent they had been told nothing would be available till past nine but clearly something went wrong along the way.
All in all turned out to be a bit of a disaster ofa day for me personally

The treasure hunt was almost put to a premature stop as horrified passers-by complained to the police. Officers arrived at the winning line on Westminster Bridge in view of the Houses of Parliament, but no charges were made.
:D That should be funny, Tenebra being arrested for the fake cadavers

Don't worry JDK as I didn't get anything either and it wasn't for lack of trying. As mentioned I got there around 8.30 to check out the locations and see if I had the names right for streets and stuff but didn't really see anything either. I had to laugh though when I saw those guys with bin linens just hanging around as it was really obvious they were competing.

I asked and the parts were put near 9 am so I guess people were quick so sounds fair. Would have been nice to ask everyone to get together at a spot and then let them go look at 9 after body parts were placed though to make it more exciting. :)

I think that article makes it sound more dramactic than it really was because the officers just didn't want people passing by to get offended. She wasn't around so so couldn't reallly get arrested. :p

Actually all the body parts were gone by 7:30

I was rather removed at this becuase it ment that the one group that arrived first got all the parts and nobody else got to take part

Considering the event was supposed to start at 9 I think this was a huge cheat, I mean even if I didnt win anything I would have at least liked to take part

Hi Charmed, imo the first five definetly were not placed after or even near to nine as there were lots of us at all five of the blood splattered locations, like 2 feet from them waiting from 8.30 until well past 9. I personally only stayed until 9.10 but i spoke to those who stayed behind at the first five later and they said nothing arrived.

I went off to check scotts statue, schrodingers bar and the seats between admirality arch and the alternative arts institute; schrodingers was gone (found the splatter) when i arrived at 9.15 and scott and the seats had no sign of anything at 9.20. I left a group of five who had an arm between them waiting at scotts (there was no blood present when i left so maybe something got delivered, i dont know cos i missed them on the bridge i never got to ask), again they said they had been to all the locations before time and that was how they got their one so at least some were put out before time.

Also like i say before 9 i met a couple who already had two limbs which they said they had gotten from visiting 13 of the 14 sites well before the start time so again further proof at least a percentage were put out early.

On a brighetr note Im certain i got 13 of the 14 locations correct anyway, the one i got wrong was newtons dwelling with a view of the national portraits gallery, i found newtons portrait inside the gallery but that clearly wasnt it. The people i was with got lots of pics of empty blood splattered boxes and blood splattered walls, i will have to get them photos off them as aside from very sore legs its the only momento i got from the day. Still it could of been worse even though i trecked up from cambridge one of the guys on westminster bridge with me at 11.15 had come from birmingham! once again he claimed to of been there well before 9 and once again he was empty handed. :(

Not to complain though, Capcom Europe didnt have to bother even putting this on but people like myself did come from far and wide only to find we were well out of the running before the hunt was even supposed to start. Its clear it wasnt run the way it should of been and giving my feedback will only improve future events so please dont anyone feel like its sour grapes on my end.

If anything like this is going to be done in future i personally would suggest having an employee watching a location refusing to let someone take something until past start time (would of solved the missing bits problem too) and if more than one person arrives together give them a tie break question but then thats only my humble opinion.

Lastly if you want to do some co op some time perhaps even tonight charmed or anyone else for that matter my 360 tag is GTA 4000, feel free to ask me to join a party or something as i will be playing later tonight, probably for most of the night!

would be better to have 14 ppl dressed up as tourists since all the locations were in central london and then at 9 they could just casualy place a limb and walk off, because at 9 everyone was running round and it was sort of working how it was supposed to just without the limbs

i just thought a tie break would solve ructions as there were lots of people at all five of the first five around charing cross station from 8.30 till past 9 and obviously only one limb was ever available, i suppose in a way it was good they were all gone before hand or there could of been a riot!? :p

Perhaps even multiple tokens so everyone who found a location could pick one up and then those with the most at end time win the prize or go into a tie breaker if others have the same amount as them.

True, they didn't need to bother but I feel particularly pissed off with the lack of organization on Capcom's behalf. It's not like I was going to be in London anyway that day and I took the day off to take part in the competition and spent money on travel. I did these things on the premise that I was going to be taking part in a competition. Not, like most other people, going round at 9am (like Capcom told us to) finding nothing because another group got in early and did took the stuff then. I don't blame them, but there should have been tighter guidelines. I'm not pleased with the fact it wasn't run properly. Capcom, if you're listening; my travel expenses were £6.90. I'd like some re-reimbursing.

It cost me 41 quid to come down on the train from cambs, i can only imagine how much the train cost the guy i met who came from birmingham. Its not like i even got to take advantage of the day in the capital as with only 2 1/2 hrs sleep under my belt and loads of walking i was too knackered to hang around so i ended up catching a train back at just past 1:00 so like i say day was a bit of a disater for me personally :(

oh well the game just came through the post so lets have a little play on that before i get on with my work to cheer me up :thumb:

I am sorry to hear you guys had such a rough time! To be honest if I took it more seriously I problably would have felt a bit down too. I just kept thinking that I wouldn't have a chance anyway with bigger groups but was curious to see how the body parts looked and giving some support to the competition.

I only knew Sinister was going otherwise maybe we could all paired up and show those guys what Capcom community is like.

I will certainly add you on xbox live JDK and we can take some frustration on those Majini. Last night I was playing and then I looked at the watch and it was past 2 in the morning! :)

Dont tend to do this but couldn't find another way to post up the photos I took from the event. I asked the Thorian lady of the forums before posting these in case it may scare someone enough to not come back...^_^

Also just wondering how many Capcom staff members got the "cut" on the previous day!

Lots of body parts! Please be warned that these are not for the faint of heart!

And that's it as there was nothing else worth nothing much but for the STARS team dressed up in costume.

the purpled haird guy in this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-r_c3UphUI&NR=1 is ghidorrah221 and the mate he is refering to is me

by the way the winners, are lying, how do i know this? i followed em from 9:10 (they were fighting each other with the limbs at a bus stop) till 9:30 (they went to the bridge) we also saw them from about 7:30 and they already had a load of limbs, like giddorah221 says he thought they worked for capcom (it was that group he was refering too)

i was also at one of the locations from 8:40 till 9:10 (went round the corner to see the guys at the bus stop

I remember the the guy with glasses wishing us luck at about 8:20 when we approached them to enquire about the limbs they had

Brilliant videos guys and will have to watch them with more attention later on when Im back from group presentation. I can't believe you guys got lost in finding the place! If I knew I would have asked the Capcom guys if they could keep some stuff for you after all the effort running around.

Then again from what I remember there were those bags and promo copies of games for both consoles. Besides the winning trip cant remember anything else that was inside their massive backpacks. I think both of you went to play event so not much missed. :)

I still can't see why people took body parts home with them unless they were hungry. :p

It's really funny because SEGA did the same for MadWorld last week but they put games on the body parts and there were people watching.

i know diogo, we were such idiots for getting the wrong bridge!

i agree sinister the winners are telling porky pies, all of the first five around sherlock holmes were gone when i arrived at 8.30 and the word from the 15 odd people congregated around those locations was that the rest were gone as well.

one interesting thing to see from the vid i posted is sir isaacs portrait at the national portrait gallery, i guess i took "with a view of the national portrait gallery" a little too seriously, what was the correct location for that one out of interest as thats the only one i didnt get right?

heres a couple of words from two guys i met along embankment at 11.30 ish

Tom:
Me and Matt got to the bridge just after 11:05, shouted KIJUJU and everything but couldn't find any Capcom PR bods... so gave up and went to Namco Park... We admit it was a fun day, though we thought it would've been a little better organised - only 3 groups of people seemed to have all the limbs, most of them pre-9, which seemed unfair for everyone else...

Matt:
As for the event, I have to say it was incredibly poorly run. Why
promote it with a start time of 9am, yet have nothing to enforce that?
I arrived in Trafalgar Square at 8am, by which point almost everything
had been collected. Having travelled halfway down the country from
Birmingham to take part, I'd have at least hoped for a well-organised
event with a reasonable chance of competing. The few PR people I
encountered that morning didn't seem to care that the rules weren't
being followed, and the whole event was reduced to a case of whoever
cheated earliest winning. Very disappointing.

Doms view of the day:

Getting into London from the South East at that time of the morning to take part in this competition was a costly hassle that in retro respect definitely wasn't worh the money nor the time it took.

The event was purely run on a first come, first serve basis.. which is fine IF the pieces where distributed at the 9'oclock time and not whenever you guys at Capcom Europe decided it was time to put them on the streets. As a reuslt of this system you disadvantaged those who had to travel to take part in the game as well as those who abided by the laws and didnt start hunting or collecting untill 9. Infact, I got to one peice before half past 8 to find it long, long gone.

The hunt while novel in its concept was poorly orgnasied as there was no representatives on hand to make sure the peices couldnt be obtained before the time again disadvantaging those who spent the most time getting to this treasure hunt

Hmm, I was considering going to this, and travelling from Bexhill.

Kinda glad I didn't now, as by the sounds of things, it would have been a waste of time, which is a shame.

People will always cheat though, but it leaves the guys and girls who play fair, out in the cold. :(

Sucks majorly.

i must admitt i expected a reply from ten back before this thread fell off the radar which is why i revived it, that and i promised the people i met on the day i would pass on their views to the capcom community team.

If we dont get a response in a couple of days im going to pm ten with all the reviews i've collected from the people i met that day, people like matt from birmingaham who came a very long way and at least deserve a thanks for coming i think.

Talking of matt, he and tom were on westminster bridge at 11:05 shouting KIJUJU at the top of their lungs and had no one there to greet them. Yes they were five mins late i know but from the sounds of things the capcom staff had left by 10:30 anyway. That is my biggest problem with this whole thing, the start time said 9, that wasnt adheared too, fair enough nothing that can be done about that but staff should of at least waited around a little while after the time they told everyone to be at the bridge at and not left half an hour before then.
