Since nobody else has done it, I figured I'd make this topic.
I have a question, though I've pretty much guessed the answer:
- Is a Current Passport required?
I figure it is, but if it isn't...then I can sign up.
Use this topic to ask Questions to Tenebra or whoever can answer about Captivate 2009 and the competition to enter it.

When is the closing date for the entries?
- Is a Current Passport required?
Since you would be going abroad upon winning then yes a current passport is required

Like I said, I'd already guessed the answer...just I was hoping beyond hope that we wouldn't need one :p:cry:
If you need any more confirmation: Yes, you need a passport. Will you buy me a planeticket to Captivate for answering that? ):
Oh, and I also have a question: When exactly will the competition stop taking entries?
Sorry, it occurred to me that I hadn't set a closing date whilst I was doing press ups a couple of hours ago  Updated.
I'm sticking this so that it doesn't get lost.

Everyone seems to say you need one, however, Monaco is part of the Schengen Agreement (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Agreement), and as so you should only need a National ID card.
According to their tourism website:
Any person of foreign nationality who wishes to enter Monégasque territory and to stay there for a period not exceeding three months must possess the document required when entering French territory (passport, travel or identity document).

:confused::confused::confused:
I guess it's a British thing, Joao, passports are far more common than ID's here ;)
Are you going to enter?

Bah, strange British people :p
Yes, as soon as I get inspiration I will :)

I only have a Portuguese Id card too but might get a passport soon as I would like to travel somewhere far awya sometime. Hope that is alright with you Tenebra.
Might enter but there could be a problem in trying to get the 50 word limit as I tend to type more than I should... :p
Are their going to be limitations to what can talked about on games seen as it would be nice to have a full report from the lucky people that go( if they the patiene).

Not really a question, but more or less an analysis on how the Captivate thread has been received...
Wow.
Like...wowzors wow.
Obviously the age restriction limits a certain percentage (although the First-to-Play event in London was pretty popular), as well as a percentage of those without a passport and time restrictions (work, college/uni etc.) but my goodness, I thought such a fantastic opportunity would be lapped up by everyone and anyone, even those aiming to skive to get in on the act.
Monaco is no easy-to-access place. It's certainly not a holiday to Great Yarmouth either, complete with caravans and old-age pensioners sipping from their see-through plastic cups containing Jack Daniels. We're talking one of the most extravagant and stylish places on the planet.
I could just be jumping the gun though, and that many others are waiting until next week before replying. However, we're talking paid-for access to a fantastic hotel (going by the Bay Hotel website), Capcom's own "E3" so to speak, and even travel.
Lol, it's blatantly the lack of paid-for bar services that has put so many people off. ;P
On a serious note however, this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for many, and I would love to see the entire community apply for a place if they could.
Of course, those that do have commitments or trouble sorting out the arrangements would have a valid excuse to drop out.
I dunno, maybe I'm just overrating the event... :P
Before anyone asks, I will be staking my claim for a place! :D Just next week though; I want to see the competition and their petty claims to fame...
I KID!
I intend to participate, but I'm waiting for inspiration, maybe in the last day I can get it.
It's a one-life opportunity, Monaco can be quite expensive for "normal people", but you can see how rich some people are... And you can see the Monegasque Princely family...:thumb:
I would so enter this if the dates wernt the same time as a big presentation i have to do for University.
I would so win it as well with my entry lol

Carbonox, you really need to take into account far more variables than just "CAPCOM giving away free goodies, why isnt everyone grabbing them". It takes a little more than to be 18 to sign up for this event and just go abroad.
Im considering the opportunity. Ive already lost a few hours of sleep each night because of it. Then theres the obvious contradiction, as Ive been very critical of CAPCOM during these past 4-5 years.

i want to partecipate, i only have to think more about what to write, and this was a very busy...i want to be original and to make a decent answer i have to think a bit....i've got time until 19th march...contest is not over yet
I can't wait to see everybody's responses, since well...yeah.... mine is still up there. X_X
If y'all think like Ratchet, you're just gonna wait until the last moment, to make sure nobody posted something better before you.
Come on guys, I've seen some great written stuff on the forums over the past years, giving a reason why you should be awarded a ticket to Captivate shouldn't be that hard.
Maybe work extra-hard for school to prove you're serious about it?
In fact, work as hard as you can at school or work, every day! You're bound to get some chance for another event if you're a good person! <3

Perhaps, but this is unlikely. I remember way back when we had CAPCOMpetitions here, some of which consisted of you writing a 100-200 word idea of something (for example- "next RE game") and even though it was anonymous, and the winners were to be chosen by a draft, there was still a limited number of enties. Most people dont bother, others have to weight their options and possibilities.
For me its the latter. Its an opportunity of a lifetime, and would set in stone my next 5 years of life, but theres a lot of "cons" next to "pros" which all have to be considered through. Besides, if Im going to, through some kind of divine miracle, get accepted and invited, I need to do a lot to give those that didnt, a chance to taste and see what I experienced there, and be a medium between the event and the people, and that prospect is somewhat frightening.
Not to mention watching Tenebra and her sledgehammer, because somehow I doubt Im in good graces with her, hehe.

I entered...but I just realised I might have a presentation around then as well. Oops. My entry still stands but I really ought to find out when my presenation is...d'oh!
Yeah, I think the issue a lot of people are having is the fact they have obligations in real life as well. Only reason I entered is because I know I can get the days off at school, but with it not being in a holiday, that's not the case for a lot of people.
And I agree with STARS, I really want to see Tenebra with her sledgie. Whomever wins this should make a picture, so we can all bathe in it's sheer awesomeness.

:D It's safer to see her in pictures, there's one or two in a topic around here. Trust me, if you're with her she may mislead you to a hidden place where she will slam you and add you to her jar collection...:help:

Believe me, if I had a passport, or the money for a passport, I'd have applied ASAP.
But sadly I've got no money, no passport, and not much free time. For instance, I've only just found the money and time to get RE5, and I'll probably only be able to get a little go on the game before I have to set down to work again.
dam ryu's entry is so much more awesome than mine, hopefully i can still win the sympathy vote!

That's too bad for you zombie as you would love to maybe get a chance at playing the new Resident Evil games announced. Can't you try to save up for just an ID card that may be cheaper until April mate?
Sorry for taking it slightly offtopic everyone but I want to try entering yet at the same time feel conflicted about it. I wouldn't want to be turned into pulp by the famout thorian slegdghammer though!
No need to worry about me, you'll be relieved to know that I won't be attending - funds go to the community, not the employees ;)
That's kind of a pity, I'm sure that whoever would've won, would've loved to meet the face behind the community.
Any big-shots that we know of that will be attending, though?
The top guys from Europe and the US will be there :)
what about that seth guy, i want to shake his hand, the hand he used to beat leo with when he beat him at street fighter iv one handed!
The top guys from Europe and the US will be there :)
Just the US and EU? So no Ono and Inafune?
Of course Inafune-san and Ono-san will be there. Seth won't though as far as I know Sinister, sorry.
