What the title says, I would like to see them simplafied just a little, perhaps more like Sagats input. I'm not new to the SF series but I'm not really a super-hardcore player either but I think that Guiles and Vegas input for their Ultra/Super-combo should be easier to pull off since in the heat of battle or just in training mode they are hard to pull off and that makes me like the characters less. Which is a shame because I think that they are both kick ass.

Your toughts? Am I making sence or am I a newbie who should just practise more?

As much as I'd love to master those moves, I'd say no. The charm of playing these characters is the hard ultra and super combo's.

well some characters have really easy super/ultras, ryu for example, so the game has given casual players something, let the hardcore players have theirs

It's true that they are quite trickey to pull off, I can just about do it but the downside is I've got to take my eyes of the screen, and as a counter I find it near impossible to do. I've found if your using the joypad it's a lot easier to use the control stick to do so then the d pad.

It is all about practice and I like the fact that after playing Street Fighter after all these years i'm still learning so I've voted no.

I spent hours training with Vega in HD Remix and I am happy to see his Ultra is almost the same. Basically, some people find it easier to charge the diagonal back, then quickly press diagonal forward, then diagonal back again and then upwards forward + KKK.

If that doesn't help.....well.....Im not sure really. but I can pull it off proficiently with the 360 d-pad even during online as well.

Practice makes perfect, obviously.

Actually, there are shortcuts for them. For the Super (not sure about the Ultra, would need to test) you can activate it by charging down-back, then hitting towards then up-back really quickly and K. This lets you cancel sonic boom into super. You can also combo flash kick into super by just doing two flash kick motions really quickly after charging. That's in the Challenge Trial mode, but it doesn't really explain the inputs.

The inputs were simplified already, just not on the surface. Almost everything is a lot easier to do now and shortcuts exist (the Guile one mentioned above plus Shoryuken's/Flame kick/other DP motions). Saying that, I found it a lot easier doing Hadouken>Shinku Hadouken back in SFIII. But yeah, I see what you mean but they are easier to do in SFIV than before.

Yeah, they're a real bitch to pull off. I've mostly played with Ryu, Ken and Akuma through most of the street fighter games (Street Fighter II all the way up to 3rd Strike). I've never really bothered with charging characters because I felt that a player can appear to predictable (either just crouching the whole time or go in for a J. F. Kick, D. MP Sonic Boom/Flash Kick, likewise with the other charging characters). The great thing about them though is that their moves are really quick and great recovery times.

Personally, I'm just waiting for the FightPad to be released here then hopefully, the df, db, uf motions should be easier. I found that if you position your thumb like you would when doing a charge+b, f, b, f super but instead, making sure your thumb is slightly more down towards the d-pad, it makes it a lot easier but that said, I still can't pull it off any time I want.

DB-DF-DB-U+KKK
Thats all it is. You just need to practice it abit remember these ultras need to be charged just like M.bison,chun-li,Balrog ect

.

many players thinks that you charge only when you crouching and that can give you an advantage.

the shortcuts interfere with the regular ultra's. That's why everytime i do rufus' ultra i get snake strike. every time. and i'm far from alone in this. the controls for the game were not designed for the console and far too many of them either clash or are needlessly awkward. they should have learned from the HD remix. complexity of input isn't depth, it just complicates things and makes them needlessly awkward.

Is that after a FADC?

A common issue with failing Ultras after FADC is that you hold the focus for too long and you get negative edge activations of specials instead of Ultras.

When you say learn from HD Remix, I'm afraid you'll need to explain further. HD Remix has significantly harder execution demands than Street Fighter IV, I find.

I dont think they should be simplified, but they should do alot more damage for the input require. Guiles is especially weak.
