Since some of the trials are really hard, I thought we should make a thread where everybody can talk about the trials which are problematic. I know there are some videos on youtube which show you how to do them but maybe there are people like me who prefer to read how they should be done (sometimes it doesn't help seeing another person doing a trial flawlessly :sadno:).
Maybe it can be stickied!?
So maybe we should start with some basics (for people who are new to SF4/SSF4).
- to make combos work it is always useful to look at Dan's Health Bar. Every time you hit him his Health Bar will flash and a light will appear from the timer that slides towards the character's portrait. This is the time when you can attack him and the combo will count.
- sometimes it is really helpfull to change the button layout
- there are shortcuts for some moves, i.e. for a Shoryuken you can simply input: DF, DF + P
- some moves need to be done in the corner
So let's start this discussion, shall we :)?
Maybe it is too early to start with one of the most difficult Trials but why not. I am having a very hard time with Viper's Hard Trial 3. I can't connect the High Jump into her Ultra. How did you manage to do this?
SF4
I'm stuck with Cammy Normal trial 4.
Jumping Hard Kick, Standing Hard Punch, Cancel into Cannon Spike.
I can do it with a Spiral Arrow instead of the cannon spike but I consistently fail to land the Cannon spike. The cannon spike go over the head of dan. I tried it with LK, MK and HK but it doesn't change anything.
Is there a particular trick

I doesn't matter which Kick you use! It's all about the timing. You could press Forward + Punch then immediately cancel into Down, Downforward + Kick.
You could also use the shortcut: After the Punch you cancel with DF, DF + Kick (I do it this way because it is faster with the D-Pad ;)).
I hope this helped :D!

Haven't done their trials yet but, so far what I've done (Guy, Fei Long, Juri, Makoto (and Dudley for my friend)) so far, they're a lot easier than in SFIV. Fei Long's were really hard in vanilla but most of his new trials are easy. His final one gave me issues though even though in theory it sounds pretty easy.
I was thinking that, going through all the trials in Vanilla Street Fighter IV took me waaaaaaaay longer, while execution seems that tad more forgiving now.
Then again, now I reached a part of Claw's hard trials that I never got to in the original,
The trial goes L Scarlet terror => Ex Scarlet terror. On Standing Dan.
I can rarely get enough charge time to pull of the Ex Scarlet terror, and even when I do , by that time, Dan's at a point where he's no longer juggle-able.
I just can't seem to get it charged up enough during the Light Scarlet terror, so is there some kind of trick to charge this move?

If I remember correctly you do: DB (charge) UF + LK and immediately DB and while Dan is still in the air UF + KK (note that this has to be done fast).
I am going to check it again but I think that's the way it worked for me ;)!

I've finally succeded :D
But the timing is hellish for me.

Congrats! You'll see this combo reappears in a few other of Cammy's trials ;)!
So far I have completed around 45% of the trials and I must say that they are a little bit easier than in Street Fighter 4! But then again Viper's hellish trials at the end are back so I won't be getting the trophy for finishing all trials :(!
Yesterday I started doing Vega's trials but I've never had any trouble with them so it won't take so long.
Are there any good Viper player here who can give me some advice on how to finish her last trials ?
EDIT: After trying different things I managed to do the sLP into High Jump Cancel and 3P by adding a cMP after the sLP.
