View Full Version : RE Compilation Game for PS3 or XBOX 360 Poll
I was having a think about some inbetween RE action while we wait for RE6, which will be a few years away :(
Would you like CAPCOM perhaps to do a compilation of older RE game levels as DLCs (or in a game) in the style of RE5/4? Like The Umbrella Chronicles on the Wii is a compilation of older levels.
Lots of Zombies to kill with the super graphics and gameplay of RE5/4? :D
Ashamedly, I'm one of the strange people who prefer fixed camera angles and tank movement to fully-3D environments.

i can't say i agree, but removing fixed camera angles from first resident evils is like taking away the lime from a mojito..... it wouldn't be the same.
I'd rather RE6 was released sooner rather than making something that's a tad too trivial.

Yeah agreed but RE6 is about 4 to 6 years away  regardless

And if you split the staff up to work on a compilation, then RE6 will move from 4-6 years, to 6-8 years.
The less side jobs there are, the more focus there is on the main title.

Yipe your probably right, they could always hire sum new staff
I don't mind waiting for RE6 but will it have Zombies to kill thats the real question, I want to return to the older style with the modern game-play, thats all I'm saying really and with the wait for RE6 I wanted sum old style action revamped for the modern 21st century age. ;)

I wouldn't mind if they made a re-make of some of the old titles. Personally I really enjoyed the Resident Evil 1 re-make for the gamecube. I too would love to see the Resident Evil 4/5 camera-style and graphics brought to the old games.......however I would hate to see the horror removed almost completely, like in the modern resi games.
Also if I was buying games like Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 3 again, I would kind of want some bonus features. Of course I would still re-buy just for the new and improved graphics, would just be nice to have a little bit extra too :D. Barry and Rebecca featuring in a Seperate Ways style chapter would be amazing.

I still disagree with this statement. With the different control scheme and camera angles, the focus of the horror element is changed. While it might not seem as scary, the atmosphere is fairly tense IMHO.
Also, I was actually going to saw what TZM said but held back knowig that TZM would say it better.
well hopefully when a new a new resident evil game comes out that it would give you an option in the options menu to switch between 3 person or fixed angles so it benefits both hardcore gamers and new comers to the franchise.
so that the ppl who want fixed angles can play with fixed angles n ppl who like 3rd person stick with 3rd person.
I think a remake would be a great idea. I'm playing through the series and having all of the games would be awesome.
It's also be a great move for Capcom. It'd mean lots of people new to the series and fans already of the series buying the game and taking some of the cash away from used game sales on the old games.
Okay, I'm stating my view.
I don't care what Resident Evil 6 contains, but one thing it must be is a survival horror. It has to genuinely scare the player, and must be more about surviving than fighting foes. If those conditions are fulfilled, I'll be a very happy gamer. :)

Horror's subjective. I know people how'd call Bioshock a horror game. But I'd have to disagree.
Please. BioShock horror? That game is just weird, enjoyable and fun, but still weird.
And I agree with he REmakes and compilations and mixed camera angles. Although, the difficulty would have to be changed as in over-the-shoulder, you can shoot specific places. In fixed camera, you can only really shoot up, center and down

It shares a lot of similarities with the Resi series...
- Genetic Modification
- Science gone wrong
- Scientists/intellectuals trying to create the "perfect" world
- Madmen competing for power, using the above mentioned 3 things.
Not to mention you spend the entire game facing off against genetic monstrosities, building up the final boss fight against the thing that is the biggest genetically modified super-soldier out of them all.
Abandoned laboratories, files and notes, a few puzzles, a dystopian setting...
Etc, etc, etc.
As weird as BioShock may be, it shares a lot with RE. For some, the game was quite scary.
True, unfortunately I lost interest as the story didn't pull me in like RE, and the graphics weren't there to back it up. Don't get me wrong, I am not a Graphics whore, I like the old RE games myself. But Bioshock just really didn't interest me that much.

All Games, Films, Books, and Music are open to interpretation and opinion. No reason to be ashamed for not liking one game :p
True, I like a lot of things others find terrible. But Catcher in the Rye is a terrible book.

yeah that's the way the old skool res evil are like, but unfortunately res evil 4 & 5 are more action oriented, capcom would only ruin a great game with res evil 4 & 5 mechanics, it should be left alone.
I like the older style as well, and yet modern gamers are so stubborn and will not even attempt to get into a series with "tank" controls.
