Having imported MHP2G for my PSP I have downloaded ad-hoc party play for my PS3 and am keen to meet up with some of my original Monster Hunter Buddies, Bear, Hawk, Trev, xxyxx etc if anyone has this it would be fantastic to get online hunting with you all again! please PM me or If anyone needs a guide to setting up a japanese PSN account and getting your MHP2G online post here and I will be happy to help you out. Ad-Hoc part play allows you to play online and is a fantastic piece of software.

The Japanese is too much for me, hopefully you'll be playing Freedom Unite when it comes and we can play then :)
Do u need to install it on Ps3 ? Does it work only if u have the original game (bought it) ?
You need to install Ad-Hoc party play on your PS3, which you can download free from the japanese PSN store. Your PSP is then just set to Ad-Hoc (Automatic channel works fine) which then connects you via the PS3 to other players. I dont speak or read japanese, but having played every Monster hunter game it is fairly easy to navigate the menus. My biggest worry was combining, but in MHP2G you can combine in your box and it highlights what is available to mix! The only thing I have difficulty with is the new cat skills and equipment, I am just starting to get my head round creating and adding gems (I just try to match symbols).

I cant see it would effect anything as I use the media install although it is from the UMD.
