Konami teases new Silent Hill, “The Silence Ends”

GameSpot reports that Konami used its Gamers Day event this week to reveal that they will reveal the next installment of the Silent Hill series at E3.

A brief trailer for the game opened with a camera slowly panning across a dark backdrop where a single item stood out – a green traffic sign with the words “Silent Hill” written on it. A moment later, a lone male figure was shown in the middle of a street, obscured by fog. The man was then attacked by a ghastly figure in the trailer’s closing seconds. The trailer closed with the phrase “The Silence Ends” and a reference to this year’s E3.

I really wish they'd release this bloomin' trailer.

I want to watch it, I want to slow it down and pick it apart...

Although I didn't much like Homecoming, I am still a fan of the series and want to see what happens next...

I'm almost sure that this game will not be a good SH game. Because it's not being developed by the silent team/yamaoka. It's like a metallica album, with techno music instead of rock, and celine Dion vocals instead of James hetfield vocals.

Mikami, Yamaoka, and RE2 director (and kojima?) are working on a new SHorror game. That is going to be a true SH game.

I remember reading about a new zombie game. The only words i remember are these: Kojima, zombie, mikami. It was on rehorror.net which is inactive now.

Yays, a new Silent Hill! I haven't been disappointed by one yet except The Room and (to a certain extent) SH3. I hope they make it more of a normal SH this time though, unlike the great in its own right Shattered Memories.

According to Gamasutra, Vatra Games is developing a mysterious FPS in their new Czech studio founded by the ex members of Illusion Softworks. This new FPS is a new Silent Hill for Konami.
