View Full Version : Your opinion about the game up to now.
Tell us what you like or don't like about Lost Planet 2 up to now VS the old Lost Planet.
Oke here is my sum up:
1 The grenades have a to big hit box even when your not even close on shooting them they still explode
2 Give me back the old radar. It was covering a wider area and it was round plus the detail makes it to easy sometimes.
3 The raggdoll fly to mush!! WAY TO MUSH.
4 the guns and grenades lie around to long after a person dies. it should be max 10 / 12 sec like in the old one.
5 VS's are so powerful that they should not re-spawn after being destroyed.
6 The trees and Datapost have a to big hit-box to. you can easily hide behind it without being hit by the most nasty attacks
7 characters are to easy to lose track of in the high grass. so make the grass less tall.
8 Why cant we get up some ledges that are easy to reach and clearly able to stand on. If you make a ledge make it so that you can stand on it. If you cant stand on that ledge place a plant there that prevents it from standing there. or put it higher.
9 The ability to chose your spawning area is destroying the game balance. If a team spawns near the other teams spawn they will have the upper hand in getting all the posts and owning the game in the end. (especially with the guns and grenades that lie around way to long) this is great for coop but it sucks in the multi player. So make it random or shut it down.
10 Also the ability to wait and choose the moment that you spawn is destructive for the balance. people simply wait with spawning if they know some one is near. and then spawn when they are about to grab the post.
All in all i like the game but it isn't as balanced and deep as the old one. I get the feeling the game has been rushed and dint get enough tough as the last one.

PS everything was tested in a controlled environment!
I agree with the overpowered mechs.
The rest i disagree. The control system is much tighter lag seems to be reduced.
The respawn system is good this promotes team play ie if everyone uses headsets and tells each other whats going on in the map ie when you are dead. :taunt1::taunt1:

- the new akrid mounts
- the 4 player co-op campaign
- akrid hunter mode (i hope, its confirmed by jun takeuchi)
- the charakter customisation (helmet, armor, backmodule, weapons)
- the awesome graphics
- the whole team based gameplay
I don't like:
- the hitbox from the grenades (demo experience)
- no harmonizer in versus

I am sorry but what would break the game if I can go 15+ Kills and 2 deaths if I could heal I would have 0 Deaths and 30+ Kills the harmonizer should never see MP only solo and CO-OP

Well, I agree with the VS respawning times but I dont agree that a VS is overpowered. The VSs here are not really different from the first LP.
A VS wouldn't be a VS if you could destroy it with just two grenades or so. Same with teh VS weapons. They have to be powerful.
A shooter is about map and weapon control. And a VS is more or less some kind of a weapon. It's part of the game, you have to fight for the VS. Well, at least the game now gives you the option (you can see it if you set up a new match) to turn these things off but....it's just boring without VS. I hate it when people cry about VS. Take it or leave it xD
There are plenty of ways destroying the demo VS:
- grenade spaming
- plasma grenade shock (works best with two players of course)
- the weakspot, the thermal tank on the back. its possible to hold the VS in a "stun loop" with certain weapons ;)
- if you attack the backside and land enough hits on the pilot itself, the pilot will be thrown out of the seat (works with turrets as well)
I think the green "anti VS" nades from LPC will return and, btw, there are lots of weapons we haven't even seen yet. So people should wait and judge about VS after the final game is out.
Ill get to play the game friday so ill post more after that
one thing I really want in the game is to be able to zip to a VS and climb on, pull the pilot out and then jump in yourself, this should be a quick fluid motion so your not getting jumped on while your still trying to get into the VS yourself. This whole pulling the pilot out of the VS could be done either with QTE (urgh I know they suck) or button mashing (much better!)
Will the final release have the option to swap around the thumbsticks? (Left thumbstick = aim, right thumbstick = move/strafe)
I played the game last friday and i really liked it... until the only debug 360 they had standing there R.O.D'ed -_-; there went the preview that i wanted to write about the game -_-;
They told me i will get the promodisc soon for the review so fingers crossed.
My first impression was..wooooooow...visualy a lot better and loads of new quirks to define it as a new game but keeping the feel of the Lost Planet saga. You will always get...what some like others will hate about the game. I do feel the VS's are over powered and could easy spoil a good battle in the making. I think there was a massive need to up the pace of the player....although you have the ability to run it is a little clumsy to opperate....mind you I ain't really used to the controls again yet.
Will add a better review when I have played some more........can't wait for the game its self now..........Ordered now from Game:woohoo:
